EU Travel Ban / Vaccine Requirement

Greetings. The EU travel ban requires persons entering the EU from the USA (and elsewhere) to be fully vaccinated. Given the trend of lessening Covid restrictions, I'm wondering if the EU travel ban's vaccine requirement may be rescinded soon. Anyone heard anything in this regard?

I wouldn’t expect vaccine mandates to go anywhere soon. I expect them well into 2023.

There is plenty to see here in America, enjoy your own country.
A lot of these mandates would end if people tried to work within their rules. Money talks, do not support mandate driven states or countries.

Good article.
Article #2.
"Should further facilitate tourist travel into the 27-nation bloc for people who are vaccinated against the coronavirus or have recovered from COVID-19".
This is great news. It's clear that the pandemic is starting to decline. We'll have Covid around for the foreseeable future, but countries and businesses are learning to manage it. There will be a "new normal", but it's not that intrusive. We spent 17 days in November/December in Germany, Czechia and Poland during "the height of their spikes" and had a great time. Wasn't that big a hassle to manage through the Covid restrictions. Survived and returned in one piece. The thought of not travelling to Europe is not an option for us. We want to go.
I'd say this is a GREAT time to go to Europe. Cheaper prices for airfare, hotels, restaurants etc. Less crowds. Greater appreciation of tourists coming to their country. We're going to the Baltic Countries on a cruise for 15 days in May and can't wait (As long as Putin doesn't get us).
The volume of tourists going will only ramp up exponentially. Book now.

Unvaccinated travelers can go to Israel starting March 1. I know they are not part of the EU but we are trending towards loosening up restrictions.

I've been sitting on my tickets for 2 years now. I'm worried I might get a false positive and lose thousands of dollars right before I get on the plane.

Many EU countries aren’t testing anymore. Particularly if you are vaccinated.

I'd imagine by June or July the restrictions will be lifted completely.

Any chance we could get it by the end of April? I've got a Netherands, Greece, Maldives trip in May and trying to sort out all of the requirements is driving me nuts.

I can’t imagine booking that trip without being vaccinated. If you are, no problems.

Oh, you should see the itinerary.

These protocols will be in place for a while.

The whole vaccinated things includes a booster, which I don't have. I hate that I need the voucher or my 2nd dose within 270 days (been a year for me) or have a note from a doctor that says I've had covid within last 180 days.

I think Italy is or it was when we were going. I'll have to check again. I'm ready to escape the Louisiana summer

Do you have a link for this? I know that you can enter Austria with proof of recovery and PCR test.

Over a year since the European Commission recommended to the Member States to impose a ban on all arrivals from the EU, travel and tourism in the Schengen Area and the rest of the EU countries have been put at a halt.
I don't know about all of the EU, but there has never been a ban on un-"vaccinated" entering Austria. There were very strict conditions if you did but it was allowed. There was a ban on leisure travel as a whole but not in regards to "vaccination" status.

Doesn’t matter if it’s a false positive or a genuine positive. Both would be costly and neither is entirely under your control.

I agree with that. When we were there, leisure travel into Austria was banned. Changed our whole itinerary.
Current Austrian Requirements.
You'll note you could go but have to quarantine "without proof of vaccination/recovery or a negative test". How these countries track your compliance I'd have no clue.

Trust me when I say that I know the requirements for entering Austria.
