Weren't you the one just yesterday posting about ban bets saying there's no way in hell Russia would ever invade?

Putin did say they were "peacekeepers"....lol

Did anyone take him up on the ban bet?

Link? Even the President, whom I can’t stand with a passion l, has said multiple times very definitively that US troops wouldn’t be sent to fight in Ukraine.

There cannot and will not ever be a war between 2 nuclear powers. If so then everyone dies, and that is in no one’s best interest.

That’s not the way it works, but ok

Putin has basically become the Eastern Hemisphere’s version of Hugo Chavez (a Communist dictator), but with a shitton more firepower, and much smarter than Chavez could ever become.

Not good for Europe, or the United States.

I use Reagan as my example because I believe he is the last American president that truly struck fear into the hearts of Russian leaders

President Zelensky of Ukraine will address his nation in 12 minutes. That's 2 AM local time. I don't think there has ever been such an address given at such an early hour.

Did I say Biden specifically?

Either way, the senile man has made numerous threats over the last several days. Do you think *he's* actually in charge or making any of these decisions, or would it be more likely that his SOS, military advisory board, and lobbyists from the MIC are pulling the strings?

Biden is a puppet and will do as his handlers wish. I'm not saying it's likely that we put boots on the ground, especially if Russian annexation stops at these two regions. But Biden isn't in charge here, and there's a LOT of people and institutions that stand to make gobs of money if war breaks out. It's basically the deep state dream, for numerous reasons.

You think COVID was a great excuse to remove your personal freedoms and expand the government's power ever-further, just imagine a global war happening as their reasoning. Not to mention all the money to be made by a full scale war.

It's not hard to imagine us foolishly jumping in and accelerating this

The Russians have a legitimate grievance.

In 1861, Lincoln went to war to preserve the union. He used military force to bring back the southern states back into union.

The only difference between 1861 and now, is that once the Soviet Union fell apart, the Russians were not in a position to force the issue, they are now.

It was. And we did stay out of it until Japan stupidly made their fatal mistake of attacking us.

We likely never get into that war if we weren’t attacked

I dunno. Japan was very expansionist in the Pacific and I think we were pretty adamant about denying them resources. I think it was only a matter of time before they pushed it too far and we jumped in at least in the Pacific.
