That appears to be the case.

The capital city protest is the last freedom convoy stronghold after many of those blocking major roads at the Canadian border returned home after Trudeau, the leader of the Liberal Party in Canada, passed emergency powers that threatened to freeze protestors’ bank accounts and suspend their insurance.

Freedom has it's price...

Truckers may have lost this battle, but they should win the war. They simply need to park their trucks at home and they can have the same impact.

when the dust settles, the Truckers will be the victors.

Trudeau will never win another election in Canada. Hell, He lost the last one. His popularity has to have taken a big hit.

This is a pyrrhic victory for Trudeau and the state.

It is also unclear whether any removal of protestors will be considered lawful as Parliament is yet to vote for emergency powers for the police to break up the protest, which if Parliament returns to normal on Monday will likely be voted through then.

This would seem to be a problem.

Police action has not been successful in stopping convoys in other countries, with police in New Zealand inadvertently inspiring a 200 person protest to grow to 1,500 individuals after they arrested 120 people in an effort to end the protest

Let's hope this is the case in Canada too.

Next up: going after them at home and anyone who donated to them.

Depends on how it plays out.

Theoretically, Trudeau is permanently hobbled, politically, over this.

In practice, the little cocksucker may use his new “emergency powers” to ensure he can’t be removed by criminalizing the political opposition.

I don't know, man. It's one thing to LARP around and take a week or two to go to Ottawa. Let's see if these guys really want to put it all on the line and can go without using a bank for months.

Nah, Truckers made a huge point and won. It took Canada leaders to the brink and they blinked, exposing many of them as very weak.

Can’t they just refuse to move goods around? Wouldn’t that also be pretty impactful?

Theoretically, the emergency powers Trudeau is claiming allows him to block strikes.

It doesn’t say how fast those deliveries have to be, though. Two trucks side by side going 20MPH in Toronto can cause a lot of problems.

Hard to blame them

Once you have a family, and in particular once you have kids, you lose the luxury of principle. I’ll risk a lot if only I will suffer the consequences, but my ability to resist tyranny ends the moment that resistance poses an existential threat to my kids. My first duty is to them above all else. The tyrannies I’d impose on others to protect them are essentially limitless, so I’d certainly abandon resistance to tyranny for them.

I am not going to throw any shade at the truckers for backing down. I'm proud of what they accomplished so far. The entire world saw what a little shite tyrant Trudeau and most western leaders are because of their actions.

Having your family and money threatened is not an easy deal. Need to stay vigilante and not give up.

How do you win if your truck is seized and forfeited and you have no income? Trudeau will find truck drivers either from tge military or foreign sources.

the brietbart link says theres 300 trucks there.

quick search says Canada has around 130,000 truck drivers.

i dont think 300 out of 130,000 is gonna have the impact youre hoping for.

Oh, he's going to abuse those emergency powers extensively
