I still think part of the reason we traded him is we weren't confident he was opting into his contract. Also, maybe we do a sign and trade and get Hart for DG and picks this offseason. I can dream right??

hart's contract was always (always), from the minute he signed it, a one year deal with a team option. forget about year three, it is a phantom.

POR just needs to decide by next june whether to pick him up for 12MM for 2023. they may not, if they are tearing down. or they could pick it up and trade him. in any case, if hart is picked up for year 2, he will decline year 3 and become an UFA

but Josh Hart can opt out too
He can only opt out year 3. Year 2(next season) is a only a team option.

Shel is currently: arguing on the political board, arguing about Devonte Graham, arguing Boom, arguing about Zion and Trajan

arguing about Devonte Graham
You fundamentaly don't understand people can debate, and that's ok. That is what I did in the Graham debate. That you draw zero distinction between that and your melt downs where you attack people is legit why everyone calls you out and you still don't realize that. That's you essentially admitting you don't understand how to simply debate, so thanks for proving that for us.

Also good to see you stalking my posts again, why do you openly admit doing some so cringe worthy?

What was that about psychologically projection, tell me more about that thing you don't realize you do more than anyone else.

Can you explain how my Graham debate is negative social interaction but all the attacks you did on the other guy today isn't? This should be good

Bronc in this thread throwing around that positive energy for really meaningful social interactions that are definitely not negative:

quote:

it’s really annoying when people can’t just own when they made stupid hot takes and instead think doubling down is the wiser path simply because they arbitrarily took a position from a place of ignorance and don’t want to admit they were wrong for fear of looking weak
quote:

Just stop doubling down and moving goal posts, it’s childish and immature.

You rolled in trying to argue stupid points
quote:

Buddy, I dont give a shite whether you agree or not, frankly, its a lot more entertaining when you are obviously wrong and keep doubling down. Corncob energy you know?

Same here. I really don't understand why you're so angry about this.

Is it because you got out over your skis about how good he was defensively in LA? It's ok. It happens to everyone, myself included.

quote:

has never been a plus defender. Which again, is wrong. He's shown the ability, not just once, but a number of times

"Saying Garrett Temple can't be an excellent 3pt shooter is wrong. He has shown the ability to be an excellent 3pt shooter, not just once, but a number of times."

Playing good defense once, or even a number of times, in an 82 game season isn't worth that much. Ingram has never had a season (yet) where he has been above average on defense. We're about halfway through his career. I'm glad you're optimistic about his potential; maybe your analysis will be correct. Forgive me waiting to see it first before I believe he can do it

But let me help you out in this thread: here's an article arguing that both his passing and his defense have been improving over a larger sample than not just once, but a number of times.

You're welcome. I can't wait to see what names you call me next

Ja with 27 in the first half and Blazers are still up 11 at half.

Grizzlies are better without Ja: confirmed

Again corndeaux, no one is arguing that BI has failed to be a consistent defender in this league, literally that was the thesis of this discussion that you attempted to interject into multiple times to try and argue. First about whether the come-to-Jesus comparison with Curry was apt(it was, they have both filled their early careers largely avoiding defensive responsibility, but they need/needed to embrace it in order to raise the level of their team’s ceilings, doubly so for BI because forwards are much harder to hide than PG’s, especially with another often poor defender next to him), and then whether BI even has the capacity to be a plus defender(he clearly does). And if you weren’t trying to argue that point, why the heck were you quoting at me to begin with? Just to argue??

As to your GT comparison, that’s conflating capacity to do something with willingness. The more apt comparison is that if you hypothetically saw GT put effort into his threes, he was consistently making them at a 40% clip, but for some reason he refuses to take them or does so with no effort. GT absolutely does try to take them and puts effort into it, he’s just not good. That’s not the case with BI. When he puts in the effort he can be a good to elite defender…he just lacks giving consistent effort and focus

Zion coming back would change expectations a bit, but for now the main thing I care about is passing the Lakers to keep their pick. Josh Hart is helping us do that.

Hart turning into a 3 pt sniper in Portland is aggravating, not gonna lie.

Literally the only part of his game that was lacking here.

Keep in mind he did this with us this year too.

He was up to nearly 40% for a decent stretch and then came down to earth.

He’s very much a streaky shooter that unfortunately, unless it magically changed on the flight to Portland, will rubberband back to the mean when the adrenaline he’s likely feeding off of from being traded comes down…and I’m not knocking him, I’d do quite a lot to find a way to get him back here in the future, but I don’t think it will be sustainable imo.
