Meh
Looks like it was filmed under heavy blankets, in a dark basement

Getting ready to go grab me a little Canes, and then a 4 o’clock showing in Lafayette. I’m excited

Saw the film today. It’s good.
Not on TDK/Batman begins level, but a solid Batman movie.

Very solid Batman entry.
I think it would have worked better as a mini series and that’s a compliment.

So my thoughts… it was a very good but very flawed Batman movie. I’ll start with the Good:
1) Robert Pattinson, Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, and Jeffrey Wright are great as Batman, Catwoman, Riddler, and Gordon respectively.
2) I love the attention towards Batman’s detective work. About time that’s a focus of a Batman film.
3) Soundtrack, tone, and plot are good.
4) A good variety Batman villains which is standard in the comics and felt like the comics due to that.
5) The batmobile chase was great.
The Bad:
1) There’s no reason this movie should have been more than two hours and twenty minutes long. If you have something to say, then take your time to say it, but this didn’t. Three hours is ridiculous for this plot. The pacing lulls quite a bit.
2) I’m going to blame this on the direction and script over the actor, but Robert Pattinson was a god awful Bruce Wayne. Fine Batman, bad Bruce Wayne. Again I think he’s capable of this and it’s not his fault, but it’s as if the script and direction tried to make sure he was the worst most emo Bruce Wayne possible. Kevin Conroy and Christian Bale got Bruce Wayne right and that’s the direction his Wayne should have gone.
3) How many times was Batman shot? I’m sorry, he was shot so many times that it became beyond parody. It was 40+ times, no exaggeration. Batman dodging the shots is way more believable than him repeatedly taking them in the chest and living. I’m sorry, Batman should have been killed ten times over in this film. I remember nitpicking Batman slamming onto Scarecrow’s car in the Dark Knight thinking he’d shatter his legs over that, and that was nothing compared to this.
4) I don’t like Serkis’ Alfred or his relationship to Bruce. The two seem to be at odds and dislike one another. That I outright despise about this movie. Alfred has always been the heart of Batman even when he doesn’t see it himself, and the movie just looks past that.
But I’d give this three and a half out of four stars. Enjoyable for Batman fans, but it’s flawed. Probably the best DCEU film. But IGN are obviously foaming at the mouth fanboys and are insane to give this a 10/10. 8.5/10 from me.

The movie is woke/liberal regurgitation.
It's beyond silly.

Very good movie. Solid 8/10. Very intelligent story. Villain was over the top at times.
Batman and Bruce Wayne are the same personality wise. Which I’ve never seen before. I’ve also never seen a Batman that felt this mentally disturbed or ill. He’s no mastermind. He’s a very intelligent, disturbed, socially awkward kid who can fight. That’s how it feels. Which is new, and interesting. Not my favorite Batman performance, but interesting.

When Zoe first showed up in the white tank top and the black wig…
I’m gonna say it…
That was one of the sexiest introductions to a character I’ve seen in quite a while . She looked amazing.

Really liked:
- Batman as a detective
-Gotham
-Music
-Penguin
-Batmobile/car chase
Liked:
-Catwoman
-Alfred
-Falconi
-Gordon
Ok:
-New take on Riddler
-New backstory on Catwoman
Didnt like:
-New backstory for Wayne family
-Over the top ending
-Batman shrugging off bullets
Really didnt like:
-Tying the villain to the real life media boogeyman "incel/4chan/alt right/anti government" crowd
-Selena taking everyone out of the movie with the identity politics bullshite
Altogether I liked this movie. Definitely go see it

It was good but a notch below BB and TDK.
The cinematography and fight choreography were great
Character dialogue was kinda meh. The Alfred hospital scene and the first face to face between bat and riddler jump out to me as scenes that should've been more impactful but the writing just wasn't there
Wasn't a fan of batman becoming a bulky tank who can withstand fricking shotgun blasts from a foot away. Much prefer the quiet, stealthy, live in the shadows batman.

Saw it this evening. Here are my random thoughts: Not as good as TDK, but would probably rank it somewhere between BB and Batman ‘89. Pattinson was fine, but did not care for his emo Bruce Wayne. I can understand this since it’s established he’s early in his career and maybe hasn’t developed that persona yet. Hopefully we’ll see this develop in the sequels. Seeing Batman do some actual detective work was great. Jeffrey Wright was great as Gordon, and I thought Turturro and Farrell (completely unrecognizable) were solid. Dano and Kravitz were okay. Really surprised at how small Saarsgard’s role was.
I didn’t like the Bruce-Alfred relationship except for the hospital scene. Also surprised at how little Alfred was in the movie. I thought this was the best portrayal of Gotham yet. Giacchino’s score was outstanding.
One issue I had was when Batman is at the police station and he hits Gordon, all of a sudden the cops are shooting at him? Seemed like an extreme reaction. But then, the next time the cops see him (leaving the Iceberg Club), everything is fine without any explanation.
At three hours, I thought it was too long. Definitely dragged in the middle.
Interested to see where they go for the sequel. Hopefully they go with Hush (teased during the movie) instead of the Joker (again).
