I thought that it was a red flag when they changed their name from FB to Meta.

If your name/brand and business is booming you don't try to disassociate from your name/brand.

It made me wonder if their earnings would be bad.
A "hey, ignore FB earnings and shrinking base, we're not even FB any more, look over here, Meta !"

I wouldn't touch fb with a 10 foot pole.

1. Apple has basically crippled their ad business and that is where the majority of their ad revenues come from.

2. There has been and is still regulatory pressure surrounding their company from both republicans and democrats.

3. They threatened to pull out of the EU and the EU is basically saying... "good, please leave."

4. The metaverse that they are trying to expand into has a ton of other players in it. The oculus is a cool niche gaming device, but Google, Apple, and Microsoft all are going to be coming out with hardware that competes with it.

I bought today. Lots of negativity baked in and they’re sandbagging for next quarter.

Too big to fail imo. Their moat is getting wider.

I didn't like their commercials to introduce Meta. Seemed like booking a tour to a third world country with poor graphics.

I think Mark Zuckerberg is a POS, so no, I don't own any Meta/FB directly.

My selective buys are only going into FB at these prices. I loaded up when it dipped after certain people got angry about political things. I'm absolutely buying now - as others have said it's a cash machine and they can afford to swing for the fences. If metaverse turns into a real thing and pays off they have a 10 billion dollar head start, if not, oh well.

Maybe for some quick profit.

I’m not a believer long term on Facebook.
Competition was always going to catch them.
