49 years old and been doing this since just after Thanksgiving. Fast at least 16 hours per day, but try to be closer to 18-19 hours. Have dropped 16 lbs so far and feel better than I have in many years.

That’s great! How many days a week and what are you eating when you do?

Curious as to what you are eating when you do eat, as well. I’m 47 and my body tends to not lose weight when I fast. Like it’s holding onto my weight.

So how does this work? Say you eat dinner at 6? Just skip breakfast the next morning and don't eat lunch until 11 am only drinking water or black coffee during that time and don't gorge yourself on any of the meals?

What is the benefits behind this?

You don’t need to count calories. It is not sustainable and you will eventually relapse. Avoid sugar and processed foods. Eat a lot of fat and protein, limit carbs. Your hormones will take care of the rest.

This is my 3rd week of intermittent fasting and lifting weights. I'm down 3lbs but feel even skinnier, probably due to lifting weights maybe my weight didn't drop as much.

Been doing the 16:8 since January 1. Also stopped drinking. Trying to limit my calories to around 2000 per day, although on the weekends I tend to over a bit.

Down 14 pounds. I could do this indefinitely. (The drinking part, probably not.)

Just don’t eat breakfast and your weight will stay down. Pretty simple. Eat what you want

That’s awesome OP. I’m 47 and have used IF to drop about 30lbs since September.
I do an 18/6. High protein. With about a 500cal deficit. Love it.

I like to workout fasted also. I usually try and get some kind of workout in at lunch time before breaking 16/18 hr fast.

I’m thinking of trying to get to 20/4, eating window 4pm-8pm. Maybe OMAD some days

Good for you.
Im on board here. With the IF Nation. I use to listen to a lot of Dr. Bergs Videos on Youtube and he makes a lot of great points on how fasting can bring you to better health.

Believe it or not. When I was in my prime. I used this and lost a considerable amount of weight. Almost down to a 36-34 inch waist and got down to 215-225. Im trying again.

Something happened, triggered a relapse and I gave up. Back to dating fat chicks, single mothers and binge eating.

Today Im on hour 62 of a 72 Hour Fast and plan on starting again with a 16-8 Schedule. With a 72 Hr fast at the beginning of each month. Trying to regain some of my prime I lost 10 years ago.

I didn't want to start an entire new thread so hopefully someone with experience can answer this. I have been intermittent fasting for a couple of years now. I use the 16-8 window basically skipping breakfast and not eating after 8 pm. I recently started working out in the morning at 5 am (have always worked out after work). Am I jeopardizing my health/gains by not having a meal until noon after doing pretty taxing HIIT, cardio, and weights? Current goal is to lose about 8 lbs and maintain strength. Current routine HIIT/Crossfit type workout 3 days a week and weights/40 minutes on open stride (elliptical style machine) 2-3 days a week.
