Was thinking about who absolutely exemplifies the 80s, and as an old timer who actually remembers that decade, here is who i got:

Michael… Madonna… Reagan… and this one surprised me, but …. Ringwald

.. thought about Prince, but i feel like he was equally as popular in the 90s, and doesnt scream 80s to me like the others.. if you want to stay strictly pop culture and avoid political, you could sub in Cruise or MJ Fox for Reagan…. Ringwald, just on the strength of those three movies, is an icon of the 80s, kinda like how James Dean, though he only made three movies in his career, is an icon of the 50s…. Who ya got ?

Nina Hartley, Janine Lindemulder and Seka are the first 3 I can think of since I was a teenager back then.

Ferris Bueller, Macho Man Randy Savage, Ralph Nader, Pauly Shore.

In no particular order.

Objectively, I'd go with MJ, Madonna, Prince, and John Hughes.

If I was putting personal favorites, Madonna wouldn't be on there...even though I liked her first two albums.

Yes.

But first acting credit is 21 Jump Street in ‘87. So it counts
