1965 Alabama at LSU. Alabama with Steve Sloan at QB won 31-7. I missed Namath by a year or so. It was the year Hurricane Hilda hit the area and a chlorine barge sunk in the River near BR. Jeanne Dixon who said she predicted the death of JFK also said the barge would explode during the game. Something like that. Well I’m still here as she missed that one and many others.

September 17, 1960. First game of the 1960 season. My family had just moved from Texas to BR and my dad's old Army Captain (Fred Dent, Sr) gave my family 5 season tickets in Family Sections of SEZ (U19 it was). We cheered for A&M and then Baylor in game 2, but gradually became LSU fans by the end of that year. I was 9 years old and was impressed with the crowd and the game and everything about Tiger Football. I did not get my own season tickets until 1980.
I started to LSU MBB games in 1966-67 when I was old enough to drive myself to the games. I got my own season tickets in 1976-77.

1977 vs Tulane. I was 4. Only reason I got to go because it was raining and my mom just got her hair done. LSU lost.

Mississippi State, 1969 when I was 8.
It felt like I was in Heaven. My father and I had driven down from Monroe. I couldn't believe all those people in Tiger Stadium loved LSU as much as I did!
There was lots of cigar smoke, especially from my father. I remember at least part of the game program was printed in an old English font with a Shakespeare theme. The title of the program was something like, "The Play's the Thing."
Seeing Lora Hinton's name in the program, I was surprised that someone from as far away as Chesapeake, Virginia would play for LSU.
Great memories!

My dad was in graduate school when he took me to the LSU vs USC game. I remember one of the students had a giant paper mache penis sticking out of one of the stadium dorm windows with a sign under it saying "suck on this USC".
