To be fair, predicting that Miranda would leave him wasn't exactly a tough guess. Steve is pretty much always getting shite on and may as well be a live action Charlie Brown. Combine that w/David Eigenberg having steady gig on Chicago Fire and Steve was pretty much destined to get screwed over. I'm actually more surprised he wasn't the person who got killed off.
