Just got a new Rx so I ordered the free 5 frames try-on. The price of glasses in some of these chain stores (like Visionworks) are effing retarded.

Are the frames good quality? How are the lenses? I need progressives.

I would like to know this as well. A girl I used work with was telling me that she orders her glasses on from New Zealand I think.

I used eyebuydirect and, although not as solid a frame as the big chains, it is just fine.

Warby Parker are good quality and affordable but most of the frames are the same general style.

Use Zenni.com. It’s a game changer.. decent quality glasses for like $20-$40

ETA: Progressives will be more, but Zenni will still be far and away better prices

Haven’t tried Warby Parker but I’ve got a couple of pairs of prescription sunglasses off Zenni and they’ve held up well over two years

I used them up until I started wearing progressives. Their progressive pricing is not much different than the place at my eye doctors so …

They are good quality. For the price you can’t beat it. I always had two pairs so I’d have a backup. They’ll get distorted shape-wise every so often, swing by the store and they’ll melt them back into place. My kids get theirs there now.

I recommend to everyone.

Do I care if my glass manufacture is progressive? No.

I’ve had a few pairs. Not bad. Wouldn’t brag on them but hold up well. I’ve lost them, not broke them. So sturdy enough for me.

I have a few from there. They’re good backup glasses, but I wouldn’t call them sturdy.

I have them for in the car and in the living room in case I don’t have my nicer ones.

Yes, purchased for nearly a decade.

But 1 pair every year.

Do it

I like them. Quality is good but the variety in styles isn't much. If they have a style you like, the glasses will be good. I believe they offer lifetime frame adjustments and other stuff, can't remember what all you get. For the price, they are really solid.

like others have said, positive experience. They will get mis-shaped so either need a store every now and then if wearing for multiple years, or will need to buy a pair yearly.

Im on year 2 of my second pair now, and they are starting to fit a little loose.

Good for the price, though

I've got a pair from WP and Zenni. The Zenni lenses feel cheaper to me, but they cost a lot less so I guess you get what you pay for.

My prescription is -3.50 (Loch Ness monster vision) so Warby Parker emailed me back recommending the more expensive lenses. I thought they were just upselling me but after getting them in, I'm glad I did. The cheaper lenses have to be thicker to do the stronger prescriptions, so they would've looked awful in the frames I chose. Just something to keep in mind if your eyes are bad like mine.
