Surely the NBA will respond with intense criticism. Surely Steve Kerr will denounce these disgusting comments (in his whisper voice that he talks in) during his next press conference. Surely LeBron will demand that he sell his ownership share in the Warriors.

I mean he's stupid enough to possibly do this.

The way he says it is certainly wrong. He says that "nobody cares" as if these people don't matter at all, to anyone. I'm not saying that the U.S. should be stepping in and forcing China to stop, but that doesn't mean we can't care. They are people, after all, but this dude acts like they're animals.

I'm convinced Steve Kerr dresses up in his underwear and a bed sheet and roams around SF at night thinking he's fighting woke crimes.

That dude is a fricking menace to reality.

For me it's just another straw on the anti-CCP camel's back.

By itself I think it's terrible but our continued business dealings with China do nothing but enable that behavior (among other similar behaviors).

I agree with the guy, I couldn't care less about the Uyghurs in China. 99 problems here and a Uygh ain't one.

Anyone with five whole posts should know that.

Not sure I'd go to war with them over this issue - but as long as they are playing the political game wrt their economic policy, we should reciprocate - outlaw the import of any item manufactured by slave labor - period.

Of course I am all for cutting as many ties with China as possible as long as they are a one-party communist state (like the DEMs want the USA to be)

Anything that helps them should be off the table.

yep - they are bad enough as a bumper sticker - but when a complete Political Party Agenda is nothing but one platitude after another that is silly.

Well, the Uyghurs certainly matter. But furthermore, you're missing another broader point: the NBA touts its social justice initiatives, yet bows to China, whose government carries out genocide against the Uyghurs. Now, you have a part-owner of one of the most prominent NBA teams declaring that "nobody cares about" the Uyghurs. It amplifies the hypocrisy of the NBA.
