Honestly, no. But he still brings something legitimate to the table.

Guess we'll find out later in the year.

Yes, Lacy is an upgrade.

First, he actually wants to be at LSU. He is grateful to be a Tiger.

Second, he has more playing experience.

This is a shitty thing to say about Lee. Yes, he transferred, but he doesn't fit into the same mold of an Eli Ricks. He gave a lot of time to LSU and was tried out all over the field. It didn't work out for him, and anybody who faults him for going try to find guaranteed playing time somewhere is a moron.

Yes, he has more playing experience and Lee left because he wasn’t going to see much more playing time than he had last year which wasn’t very much.

Agree with you. Kid was so mismanaged. Poor guy had to try out at more positions at LSU than he had years there. Wish him the best at his next stop.

These aren’t trades. That’s a dumb question.

But the answer is yes.

Lee’s issue was always learning the playbook. At Amite he was never forced to really practice or learn a playbook. He beat everyone in high school with pure talent and ability. He ran 3 routes and just out muscled kids in 2A. At LSU he consistently had issues learning the plays, learning how to run more than the deep bomb or post and then getting moved to defenses stunted any growth he was making on offense.

Lacy in his last 4 games had 1 catch per game, but all 4 catches were a touchdown

Lacy has 50 career catches with 10 tds in 2 years . Lee has 11 catches with 1 td in 3 years

Seems like a better athlete when the ball is in the air. How that translates to LSU remains to be seen. Lee is a physical specimen who probably would have been better served as a LB but he just couldn’t pick it up.

It isn’t necessarily to speculate a comparison. Lacy is good. A solid addition to the roster.

And Lee isn't?

I would agree Lacy would be an upgrade, but the statement above was a stupid thing to say.

I don't believe any of the players we picked up from the transfer portal are necessarily "upgrades" per se. What they do is fill a position of need from there players that left.

I believe he probably is.

Big. Strong hands. Can go up and get the ball.

I believe he has 3 years of eligibility left.

What did Devonta produce on the field? At the end of his time here, he was basically insignificant. I'm sure he is really talented, but for whatever reason, it didn't work out for him at WR at LSU. I wish the best for him, but Lacy doesn't have to do much of anything to be an upgrade or on equal ground.

Can you wait till the fall for a definitive answer?

Great staff will work with him and who knows. He may develop into a top-notch stud or regress. But he had to have enough upside for them to bring him in. I cannot imagine they would fill a limited spots from the portal without a high level of confidence in his skill set.

Lee never came close to his potential so I don’t know why so many are up in arms that he’s leaving or questioning if Lacy is an upgrade or not.

Who cares if he is or isn’t an upgrade over a guy who really didn’t contribute all that much in the first place.

Experience at starting WR yes, however raw talent might favor Lee.
