Unless we start playing some real teams there's no need for a new arena. I'm not paying $200 a game to see LSU play every conservative religious college in America.
Even the good teams we play aren't sellouts now. And there's no reason to build a smaller arena.

I don’t know how money for big projects will come in anymore. The players don’t want a new arena, they want money in their pocket. No more sleep pods in the locker room, just give the money to players so they will come to/stay in Baton Rouge.
Right? Wrong?
This is ridiculously wrong. The money that goes into arenas, coaches contracts, can't be given to players. That's still highly illegal. LSU/TAF CAN NOT pay players.

Just because you won't doesn't mean someone else will.

Someone hasn't been paying attention lately.

For a few years sure ... then they too get tired of the scam and you have a Jimmy Swaggart Bible College situation

I’m pretty sure Exxon can’t get involved in sponsoring local athletics like this

If a new Arena is built in a different location, will the names have to be the same or can they be changed?
It’ll have to be changed. Word is they’re going to call it the Ben Voogd Center.

Between Mulkey and Wade there is never a better time. Both coaches deserve it. I don't know how Woodward could tell Mulkey no.
Money flows towards programs that have sustained success. You don’t have to win a national championship every year, but you have to have enough success to draw fans and TV money. That is the key.

Tear the PMAC down and play sports in the River Center until a new palace can be built.
Not feasible but it’d be awesome if we got a few outdoor games in tiger stadium

I last heard that they plan on building a new track complex near Tennis. Then building the new basketball stadium where the old track complex was. They will then demo the old PMAC and leave the practice facility. The area that was the PMAC will be tailgate area like Patrick Francis Taylor.

To expensive for a new arena, it will be a significant upgrade to the current PMAC. The question I have is how quickly they will move on it.

Did you already write a large check?

The university isn’t paying for that, itd have to be all boosters.
And the way Woodward overspends on everything and the millions he has wasted, you’d have to think the boosters are about boosted out.

I pay $200 for a pair of season tickets now, which is the best bargain in all of sports at this moment. I’m perfectly happy in the PMAC, but we will need to make Wade and Mulkey happy. I’m just not sure how much the fans will be willing to pay to make that happen - we aren’t selling out every game at the current bargain basement prices.

How long do these things usually take? Like 3 years right?

Haven't heard this but if he's saying no to a new arena instead of renovating the PMAC he made a good call.

Nahhh. I think, like any other 18 year old kid, they want it all. Hell, I know I would.

Have each player pod etc. be part of their NIL deal. In this way, smaller businesses can be involved.
Have the practice facility be the priority. This a must get to appease the coaches / players. This is where a corporate sponsor is needed.
Have the bigger sponsors spend their cheese on NIL deals for players.
As for the PMAC, first they need to paint the roof. Having the Tiger eye on it would set it off from overhead aerial views. A light show install is something that I believe both the players and fans would appreciate.
Just my .02.

Cant believe this. Finally LSU has good men's and women's teams and instead of enjoying the their is instead crying and hand wringing over the facilities.
