How likely to you see this happening within the next 10 years, if the current state of politics doesnt change?

0.0% chance. Neither state, nor any other state, has anything approaching popular support for secession.

An enormous barrier to any state seceding is dependence on the federal teat.

0% chance of them leaving but they will remain the states offering the most freedom from federal government overreach.

Hence why I think either TX or FL would be the only ones to do it first.

tex im surprised they havent tried already.

bear in mind powerful forces love "current state of affairs."
northern California tried to create Jefferson. it was on ballot as advisory. it passed. then a judge said it cannot be on fall ballot as referendum
because
it would require a lot of changes. thats it.
too lame. but it died.

so tex would also be court battles of status quo.

As well off and independent TX and FL think they are, they are dependent on the Feds for cash, just like every other state.

Their citizens wouldn't pay federal taxes anymore. It would all go to the state. This isn't rocket science.

There are way more red states than both. I have my sights set elsewhere if things don’t turn for the better for GA in 2022.

I am not optimistic about Texas doing much of anything sensible. It is entirely too welcoming to Big Tech Companies. And it’s governor has been entirely too squeamish on border issues that affect that state and the rest of the country.

I think this relates to carpetbaggers that have infested Austin and who think that BC they moved to Austin and made traffic worse and they eat BBQ on their tofu that means they’re Texans.

Texas’s utter shitshow with the windmills causing the power outage during the freeze last year, was inexplicable.

Look what Big Business did to Georgia. Take note Texas. Y’all should have never started calling it the “Energy” industry.

The only way that happens is if the United States government is so bankrupt that it can't keep the states by force.

No, we're not. We lose $.06 on every dollar that gets sent to Washington. For every dollar we send, only $.94 makes it back. If we were no longer sending money to D.C., we'd be in even better shape than we already are. That's why the FedGov would use force to keep us.

Good chance TX won't be this way for too long. Abbott is definitely selling the states soul away to get these large corps here. Was happening under Perry too.

Ie...I heard a story of trying to get a Frisco city contract, and one of the reasons for not making it to the final round was that they didn't have an "equity" plan. That's Collin county, that was the most conservative county in TX before Toyota went there. Trump killed it in '16, and barely won the county in '20.

These large corps are forcing the local govts to take in their leftie politics, and it's being accepted without the citzens knowing. It's their collective plan.

No problem with that. At least the taxes will go to places that the voters voted on.

I think there’s a better chance of having a Constitutional Convention of States called where we pass several amendments to the US constitution correcting this path to destruction that were currently on. This movement is gaining traction.

It’s a provision in the constitution that’s never been utilized.

This wasn't good, but more optics that the Dems are definitely taking advantage of. Imo I looked at it as a good test of where we are, and how we shouldn't be letting the feds force these alternative options. I think if we get another warning of a bad storm coming people will be better prepared. Not blowing it off. It sucked, but nothing getting bundled up didn't help get through it. Heck people die in high #s every year up north when they get a hot spell. Sux but happens. Two deaths, sadly, was a mom and daughter that the mom essentially killed them by getting in the garaged car and starting it up to stay warm. That's just darwinism at play right there.

With that said I agree Abbott has been lackluster on taking the bull by the horns on issues. Why I'm a Huffines fan in the primaries.

Lots of Rino's in the TX capital too, that helps Abbott stay just above the fray.

If TX leaders were smart and truly Texas First, we would be using this opportunity to improve our grid to prep us to set us up for a potential departure. Especially since the Dems are calling for a change, let's take advantage of it under the radar. Once set up right for TX, add a plan to take on some other states that may eventually want to join us. TX being the only one with its own grid is a benefit for us to make a move first, but we won't with the current leadership.

But like I said in another post... Abbott is selling our soul to the lefties for then to move here.

Not saying we should leave the union, but the TX governor, and others, should have a plan in place like the nuclear football. Otherwise it will never happen, because there are no plans/process in place. Just like voting audits - nothing in place to do this properly, so why we were so discombobulated between Nov 3rd and Jan 20th 2021.

I don't know if this will happen, but I would like to see Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas band together with Texas. I think overall the citizens are mostly like minded. Economic wise they would do well as a stand alone country. Arkansas is the resort part of this union as Colorado is to far gone.
