I’ve heard people with different opinions about the EE cut class. A popular one was the first circuits class back around 1990, which I never understood.

To back up Aravena’s class as the cut class, I’ll use rough numbers from the semester before I took it. About 100 people registered. About 50 dropped it. About 25 passed.

Physics 2102 - Electricity and Magnetism. I remember for the final, the test was handed out 5 min later a guy got up, crumpled it up and threw it at the teacher and walked out.

Fortunately I didn't have Aravena for EE2720 so I lucked out. Dr Porter taught us that one. I had Aravena for second Controls and he was pretty good in that one. Only had about 15 registered for that one. It was hard but he explained it pretty well.

Haredest, a tie: Differential Equations and Dynamics. Sucked.

Most interesting: Earth & Environment through time. Pretty mind-blowing stuff. Sort of a history of the universe, with a focus on Earth.

Dr Hunter was great with Circuits I.

My favorite professor was Dr. Kak and next is Ram.

Most interesting was an entire course on John Milton's Paradise Lost

Most difficult was atmospheric geography. Idk why but I couldn't wrap my head around that shite.

I was never much for the maths and sciences

Bonus: I took a Comparative Literature class and 95% of the students in there were the exact stereotype that you see on TV and in movies

ETA: Also took an archiving class at LSU that was really neat. Got to go to the Louisiana State Archives and see all the stuff in the vault. A lot of Huey P. stuff. One of the history professors at LSU wrote one of the best Huey P. Books (Kingfish)

The Digital class was not hard but it was at 7:30 and the instructor would always have pop quiz when attendance was low.

Hardest: A toss up between Stage Operations and Biochemistry. Biochemistry was the class I studied the most for.

Most Interesting Probably Biomaterials. Loved learning about nanotechnology and how the different types of materials work within our body.

Haha. I bet. Again I had Dr Porter and he really didn't spring pop-quizzes on us so I was lucky. He also taught first circuits to us and did a great job. It's amazing when you get a teacher that uses the english language well. I had Dr Ho for electronics at 9:30 and Magnetic Fields at 10:30 (Dr Ho again). Back to back. Was my hardest semester at LSU.

I had Chris Schwehm for digital at that time. The coursework wasn’t difficult.

He’d show up at the same places as us, out drinking. Like the Caterie.

Modern Algebra. I took that class twice and made a D both times only because of the curve. I breezed through Calculus but that class kicked my arse.

Most fun was Astronomy. Labs were great and there were some hot arse girls.

Thermo is not required for EE

I thought way back in the day that EEs at LSU had to take a thermo class. Seems like I remember that for some reason.

Not the same one that the MEs had to take but a more bare bones (relatively speaking) version.

It was Kinney with the glasses. Don't know why I thought it was Hunter. Been way too long. I took that class in 1988 ??
