That's amazing. What are the predominate elements/material in that image? I mean, have astronomers come up with reasons why the flame nebula, well, looks like a flame to us?

Yes. Nebulas are lit up by the stars that form in them from the gas and dust. The elements within the clouds are what determine the color they will glow. But if the gas and dust is too thick we won't see any (visible) light from the stars within them.

Great job, OP.

Here is my shot of HB14 (Bikini constellation), a heavenly body which can sometimes be seen just above the horizon, near the lake in early evening.

Cool. I figured you had to have a decent technology investment to take something like that.

I was very into astronomy as a kid, and would like to try some Astro photography at some point in the future when I can hopefully spend more time away from the big city lights.

Your eye cannot take in enough light.

Just because we can't see infrared doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

It's your shitty eyes fault.

You’re wasting your breath. Some folks get off on calling space photography fake for some reason, I guess they think it’s edgy. It’s hard to differentiate the trolls from the idiots, but it’s probably not really worth trying to educate either group.

If I wanted to get a setup like this how would I know if light pollution in my area would make it worthless?

Are you out in the middle of nowhere?

that's a very long exposure from a German Equatorial Mount tripod (GEM) (very expensive) that tracks celestial objects. Very nicely done.

Yes, South La sucks for viewing. High light pollution, humidity and temperature

20 Ten minute H alpha exposures ASI 1600 MM Cool From Nov/19. To the fellow that said he's never seen this type of stuff before, you can see it easily with a night vision scope and a semi dark site.
