Then don’t watch. Jesus, how many of these threads do we need

What's wrong with 18 yr old kids having more control than professional athletes with 8 years in the NFL? They learn nothing of commitment, hard work, persevering through hardship, and that money is the only thing that matters. All of those are terrible values for kids to be lacking as adults in the real world. There's nothing good about actually, considering they were alresdy being provided meals cooked by 5 star chefs, clothes, room and board, a free education, a stipend for 5-600/month, and the athletic facilities that they can spend time at all day for free with everything a college kid could ever want.
But somehow that was oppressed. If the argument is that many come from bad upbringing, then why on earth would we want to teach these young men to chase the dollar, and not the other things they should want to instill within themselves, their future family and communities.
It's bigger then just they're getting paid now. It killed the sport

So the consensus here is that it's now OK to buy a college football team?

No, most on here are furious at the idea of players receiving some extra compensation while putting their bodies on the line for a hundreds-of-million dollar industry. They think college football should remain pure as driven snow, like it’s always been

A highway to hell sounds pretty metal to me

I guess win at all cost is the new moral standard. Sad

They were winning at all costs before too.

Then quit watching. Better yet, take your miserable arse off of this board.

The consensus here is that it is now within the rules so quit being a whiny pussy or go find a new interest. At the very least, stop making threads. There are 50 others you can post in about this topic.

Yeah. College football was never like that before.

NIL is great in theory but being very poorly executed right now, to the detriment of the product called college football.
There need to be some tweaks, transfer should have to sit a year, and some other structure to how NIL’s take place.
Kids getting paid should happen. Individuals being out above the game should not.

If NIL is the problem you think...and it may be, it will eat itself in 5 years as market realities exert themselves.

That guy has as much right to post what he thinks as you do to be a jackass. I agree this shite will have an ill effect on CFB. LSU will have a difficult time keeping up with the new NIL platform. Louisiana is not the wealthiest state and keeping up with A&M, Texas, Georgia, etc. will be quite challenging. Of course, the new price tag will be passed down to the consumer. We will see I guess.

Pretty sure the tweet is illegal under NIL rules, but Caleb going to EMU would hardly rock the college world anyway.
Given the coaching turnover, etc at LSU, things have been relatively stable here. I don't see the doom and gloom everyone else is seeing.

Why should transfers have to sit a year? If any other student wants to change schools they don’t have to sit out a year before they start taking classes
