Traffic in the Woodlands sucks. Its overbuilt. It has some nice features but not utopia.

I'm fortunate enough to be financially able to live in any zip code of our choosing in the country.
I have lived in 11 states including 1/3 miles from the beach between El Segundo and Manhattan Beach in L.A. county.
I still can't find a compelling reason to sell my small farm in southeastern Oklahoma. I have so much stuff that it makes it had to give up. A boat, jet skis, a 5th wheel, tractor, side by side, a 4 wheeler plus a woodworking shop and a metal favrication/welding shop is hard to relocate.

Park City UT is one of my favorite towns

When looking at safety, quality of life, income/job market, raising a family etc. where are the best places to live in the US?
Depends heavily on factors like where your extended family lives. Those of you with toddlers and young children know how important a support network is during the pandemic when schools and day cares close for 10 days after an exposure.
Also the older I get, the more I think I had an advantage growing up in a small town.
So my vote goes to a nicer, small town in the south or mid west....wherever your family lives.

He’s coping because he’s a plant baw and knows he couldn’t move anywhere else in the county and make the money he’s making with all the OT he volunteers for. So he chooses to focus on the few positives instead of the glaring negatives because he can’t do anything about it

I could never leave my family. Have 6 kids throughout north La. I see the trash on the roads and see what people I live around when I go shopping and shake my head, but, I can't leave my kids, as much as I would like to move to north ark or parts of Tennessee,,,,nope. And overall, I'm very happy.

Like the area, but it's not cheap and airport is small, limited and expensive flights.

Utah would be tops on my list.

Depends on your lifestyle, age and finances. Personally, I would choose anywhere that the mountains meet the sea but I, like a lot of Louisianans, am trapped by family here.
I tell my kids to move but their wives will say, "But my Daddy's buried here!!!" The graft and corruption will not go away in mine nor my kid's lifespan.
Over 78% of us living here are born here. The highest in the nation.
I am a lifelong resident.

My vote goes to Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Moved to this area recently and it's definitely an upgrade over BR. But then again, what isn't?
My vote goes to Western North Carolina. Great food, mountains are beautiful, perfect kind of weather for me too.

We considered that too but we are tied to children and grandchildren who will NEVER leave.
I love Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain and Boone areas.

Your kids will thank you and likely follow suit. Break the cycle
