On episode 5 of Season 2 and I'm loving this show.
Feeling late to the party on it, the performances of Frenchie and M.M. have really been a favorite part of the show for me.
Can't decide if I completely hate Homelander or not, but what a strange a-hole he is

It’s really quite awesome.
Same. Hated for a while then was more or equal parts funny. Great writing and acting for that role.

I’m old and somewhat disconnected. Maybe not disconnected, but I can’t keep up with all the new shite. This is a parody on superheroes right?

The first season is very good but it sharply drops off in the second season.

well you should definitely keep watching. Homelander is an awesome character on this show. great casting and great writing for that character.

What I love is that every time that character is in a scene there's a tension coming from knowing that he's powerful enough and unstable enough to just start killing people at any moment. He's like the old jack-in-the-box toys...
You know it's going to pop at some point, you just don't know when.
And the actor portraying Homelander plays that perfectly.

Both awesome characters. Banshee is one of the most underrated shows of all time. That and Black Sails I’ll recommend to anyone.

Parody isn't the right word really. It's just a different take on superheroes in that if they were real, they would be dicks and abuse their powers. And they'd be treated like celebrities and managed by greedy corporate companies.
It's a very good show. While I agree the first season is better than the second, both are very good IMO. I can't wait for S3 to come out (whenever the frick that may happen).
And I'll second Invincble. It's animated, but holy shite is it adult-oriented. It's awesome, and has similar characteristics to The Boys.
