I will console Gal Gadot, Natalie Portman or Amy Adams if they have any regrets about this video.

This is exactly correct.I can imagine nothing more depressing and hopeless than no heaven or a God. It is unbelievable that people like this evil song
It is a childish song. Seems like something a 13 year old would write.

Gadot told InStyle she had had "all pure intentions, but sometimes you don't hit the bullseye".

This seems like a pretty genuine apology many of us could make from time to time.

This reeks of insecurity about your beliefs. I have religious friends who have conviction. They do not speak this way.

John Lennon said Imagine is the communist national anthem.

John Lennon was a POS and that song is a depressing song that celebrates nihilism.

When I imagine a world with no religion I see a world with less morals and would probably no longer exist with many people on it.

John Lennon was a filthy anti-Christ Marxist who got exactly what he deserved. Shame it didn’t happen soon so he couldn’t have polluted so many minds

I am a long time Beatles and Lennon fan. John Lennon wrote lots of songs about lots of things. Imagine was hailed by the left as a Utopian wet dream, but after all is said and done it really is just another song.

Agree. 90% of the best songs out there have wildly intolerable lyrics if you read them literally. Imagine clearly states in the lyrics it a song about imagination and dreaming, in other words....not literal. He's not literally trying to start a revolution to eliminate all nation states, possessions, and religions. It's more of a playful dream about wondering if humans could live without so many of the things that divide us, not saying that we actually can or should attempt to.

Lennon stated: "'Imagine', which says: 'Imagine that there was no more religion, no more country, no more politics,' is virtually the Communist Manifesto, even though I'm not particularly a Communist and I do not belong to any movement."[9] He told NME: "There is no real Communist state in the world; you must realize that. The Socialism I speak about ... [is] not the way some daft Russian might do it, or the Chinese might do it. That might suit them. Us, we should have a nice ... British Socialism."

If you search for it there are a few sources with this quote by Lennon:

quote:

Lennon himself described “Imagine” as “virtually the Communist Manifesto, even though I am not particularly a communist and I do not belong to any movement.. But because it is sugarcoated, it is accepted.”

No idea if this is legit

Lennon later confirmed that the similarities between his ideals set out in the song and Communism were indeed deliberate: “‘Imagine’, which says: ‘Imagine that there was no more religion, no more country, no more politics,’ is virtually the Communist Manifesto, even though I’m not particularly a Communist and I do not belong to any movement.”

He also said that he is not a communist. Also it would be crazy for any communist nation to adopt that song as a literal advocacy for communism considering that the song wishes for a world without countries.

I went to a funeral for a friend some years back and they actually played that inside of a Methodist church at her funeral.

The church should have played "Funeral for a Friend."
