This idea of sign with school (NIL) to the highest bidder will crash and burn

When these top prospects transfer after one year (after signing huge NIL deal) it will all crash and burn. Once these big money boosters realize they are getting played by not only the kids but the schools as well, this overflow of $$$ will stop.
NIL was set up to be used as a sponsorship/endorsement opportunity for college athletes of all sports. Not just football or basketball, all college athletes are eligible.
These donors are going to get fed up with giving these kids hundreds of thousands of dollars only to see these kids transfer out after one season.

I'm just going to say, I respectfully disagree with you. Sweet opinion but mine is the opposite. It's the new way of the world. Adapt or die.

I wonder if these players can sign a contract to play 3 years with the NIL deal.

Annual programs, the money doesn't go away for the teams who have immediately benefited from nil making paying for play legal.
We have 3 threads a day on everyone from atm transferring after a yr... based on what logic? Your paid 100k a yr, that won't stop being paid to you.... kids leave bama cause they can't beat out 2-3, studs in front.
It's like a lot of our fans are riding the idea of taking scraps from an elite roster instead of being that elite roster.

You are under the impression that the top teams won’t keep paying that elite kid to stay where they are? Uh.....that is already happening.

I think a lot of people understand the “adapt or die” bit, but realize there is a third option: they are going to just become disinterested. And that is why they are saying it’s ruining college football, because it is ruining it for them.

Does anyone think after the schools, their administrators and others analyze it, they will make adjustments or revisions to NIL?

The NCAA, or the conferences, will come up with rules curtailing it.

They have to. It’s completely out of control right now. Some of these kids, who aren’t even on campus yet, are being paid more than a physician.

Let me say this, I’m 100% in favor of NIL.
It’s hard to see schools constantly getting these boosters that help pay these kids only to see them transfer for one reason or another over and over again.
Quinn Ewers is the thought that has come to mind. Supposedly he received over a million dollar NIL deal and stayed half of his freshman year.
He’s reportedly received a huge NIL deal to sign with Texas.
If you gave him his NIL deal at Ohio St. would you be cool with constantly taking chances on 18 yr old kids? I mean if you got that kind of money then I guess it doesn’t matter, but eventually these donors are gonna say hold up.

It’s not sustainable.
99.9 percent of them have no marketable value.
Boosters have limits. It’s a novelty now, but won’t last at this level.

If you are asking me where exactly I would rather my donation go, then yes I would rather it go to a returning stud. Bama was ahead of the curve there and is why they had so many seniors that would return.

The rich will get richer. The NCAA needs to adjust their thinking about roster management. I'm assuming it will be ironed out. Having only 50 scholarship players for a bowl is crazy.

There can only be 11 players on the field. Some people are going to get tired of sitting on the bench.

but a healthy NIL paycheck makes sitting a whole lot more tenable. Good chance for most players that you are going to have to sit and wait your turn at any program loaded with talent, Bama, Georgia, Ohio St and now aTm.

It will not crash and burn but the ncaa will tweak it year after year. Hopefully the first is a set max deal.

The leverage is the ability to transfer which you can do without sitting once. So after a 5 star gets paid to sign, after the first season he threatens to leave unless he keeps getting paid. If he is stuck down the depth chart, why would you pay him? Then he leaves for an NIL deal at another school and his leverage is effectively gone. Now back up and start to wonder why a 5 star stuck on the bench was paid to begin with. Makes me think this shite will die down (to a degree) at a certain point.
