When my Dad died in Virginia, I was working in Houston and commuting to Virginia every other weekend.
A friend of the owner of my company, came to my office the week after the funeral. He sat down and talked about when his Father died. His words that I remember to this day were,
"I remember when my Father died, I miss him to this day, and it's OK to continue missing him."

That helped me a lot.

So sorry for your loss.

I know that I would have enjoyed meeting and talking to your dad.

Follow his lead…live a good life and look forward to being reunited in Heaven.

Your dad sounds very similar to mine. I don't know what I would have done just being raised by my mom, a Karen. She and I argued constantly and dad would just stop the fight by telling her: 'Why don't you just leave well enough alone?'
Translation: 'Zach is right. You are wrong.'
That always made her shut up.

Brother, that was beautiful and I have to admit, I got a little teary eyed.

He did good!
