I've been an overlap guy since I was a teenager but now getting arthritis in my top knuckle on left hand from the pressure exerted on it during swing. Has anyone gone from overlap to interlock? When I've tried it while practicing I have a hard time drawing the ball.

I always interlocked, but I’m open minded.

Any 10 finger grips out there?

I don't understand how anyone plays with anything except interlocking grip. I've tried using overlap and it feels like the club will fly out of my hands if I even try to move it.

I feel like I can release my right hand much easier from the interlock grip for some reason. I think I;m eventually going to have to go back to interlock just from the pain I get using overlap but it's a tough adjustment do far.

Interlock

I’ve tried overlap but I kept shifting my right pinky in the backswing…it just didn’t feel natural

I learned an overlapping grip that is what feels the best. Never had issues with grip except for those wonderful 100° days in August. Good grips on the clubs and lots of gloves.

I use the 10 finger on everything thats not a putter. I went to this when I had an issue with my right hand and haven't gone back since. I've been told i'm losing distance and can't be as accurate, etc. I find it a lot more comfortable than either the overlap or interlock. I have no plans to go back.

Sorry Shank, I didn't see you're handle before I signed up, at least I spelled it correctly.

I might try the 10 finger grip if I can't get the interlock to work. Reading up on it a bit it seems interlock works better for people with smaller hands, I wear an extra large glove so that ain't me.

I’d love to see a study on this. I’d put money on interlockers finding the right side of fw more… at least that’s how it is for me. Club releases easier for me on overlap, but interlock gives me more confidence on shot shaping.

Yep Nicklaus interlock and Tiger also so if good enough for them good enough for me. Always interlocked when I started then years later changed to overlap but now back to interlock. I feel more together and locked!

Switched to overlapping 10 years ago and never looked back. Always played interlocking since I was 10 years old and switched because of the pain in my right pinkie .
