I remember being at the Bama @ LSU game the year GG was a senior in high school. We were 20 rows up in the end zone, and I was feeling good (tailgating). I saw GG and his dad (I believe) in the end zone and I shouted “Greg Gilmore!” He looked up, I froze, and simply said “what’s up.” Needless to say, I will go to my grave thinking I sewed that one up as he committed to us shortly after.
