Are the academic casualties the same guys who didn't play towards the end of the season?
We had enough to beat the Aggies.

Maybe not. Final grades were just posted a week ago.

I’m interested to see who on this team thinks they are good enough to opt out.

I’m sure we will have at least 11 guys who would walk through fire to be able to say they played in a game for LSU. That’s all that matters right now as we start back to where we are supposed to be. By the way, don’t sweat the result of the bowl game. We’re not exactly playing the 85 Bears.

Yes and we can be thankful for two things.

(1) We can all thank Orgeron for leaving LSU in this train wreck. His recruiting brought in quite a few players who may have been talented but have lacked in the character department.

(2) We can thank Brian Kelly for coming into this situation and changing things. If anyone thought this situation at LSU was a simple and quick correction then they were wrong. Bowl game or not LSU’s main focus is getting the right staff and players who want to be at LSU and won’t leave at the 1st 10 dollar increase in NIL money.

It isn’t just LSU facing these problem but LSU is facing them in a Coaching change and rebuild situation. Look at what Ewers did at Ohio State. He was there for a year after taking whatever Ohio State gave him and then bolted for Texas and more NIL money. He has never played a down anywhere but is grabbing all he can.

If anybody thinks Alabama won’t have problems soon then just sit back and watch. There is no way any team is going to stockpile players and have them sit around anymore. There is nothing to stop these players who are not playing to go elsewhere for a “double dip” in NIL from another school. This is not what NIL was intended to become but this is what happens when half thought out policies are implemented.

NIL as it exists is not sustainable but at the present time is nothing more than free agency with no contract or accountability.

That seems out of character. Team guy who plays his arse off - opted back IN after missing the first few 2020 games for legitimate family health reasons.

If I had to guess Damone Clark. He’s the only one that would have high enough draft stock
He’s a true tiger though so he might play anyway.

I don't know there has to be some kind of written agreement tied to being on the team for so long or playing time. These donors are not giving money for absolutely nothing. They either want their business tied to a players name or the school, or they are simply a fan trying to buy the school success. Either way they are not giving money for no reason. They will at some point want to see a return on the investment.

This is the mess that comes with poor leadership. The future is still bright. CBK has shown he knows what he’s doing. Texas Bowl outcome will not define the future.

Ewers played one play a handoff garbage time. Ryan Day told Ricks to hit the road no money here. How can you keep your team some guy comes in and collect the doe and the folks you recruited get nothing. OK BAMA

I’m so sick of this talking point. If we don’t embrace paying the players, LSU will not have the talent to compete with the likes of Bama and the rest of SECw. We might as well just hold open tryouts if we’re only looking for kids to want to play for LSU for free
