I know there are rules in place but this is a big time sponsorship deal with teams locked in and accommodations already made. Seriously doubt theyd cancel this game. We would play with 30 players if need be.

The amount of "help" available to them you almost have to try to not pass. Most of the academic casualties are usually for cheating.

No there is no contract for NIL. This is why you see Spencer Rattler, Quinn Ewers, Eli Ricks, and others (there will be many more)
who have already done it.
Second, many of these high school recruits are not of legal age and cannot sign a legal contract at 17 years of age.
Some of you may not understand how “1way” the NIL is right now but it is and is unsustainable. These NIL Donors are not going to be willing to continually put up money for players who simply take money, cars, etc. and then bolt to another team.
Imagine going back to a donor after he gave a $50,000 to $60,000 vehicle to a player only to watch him go play elsewhere.
I doubt that will be a sustainable situation.

There won't be any double dipping. The first NIL deal from Bama will be heavily dependent on performance...and if it is free money, then they won't transfer, they'll just stay and spend it.

Most hard hit is D backs, but that has been the case all year…

basically what i was indicating. it’s just frustrating that these kids can’t pass general studies with all the help they get.
free education for these guys that others would dream of and they just waste it.
Never thought of the casualty being cheating though.

Good point and for the most part I agree. But I think some donors with really deep pockets will see it as the price of poker and keep ponying up whatever it takes to bring in the talent. Like Texas. I don't see any financial obstacles that will deter their donors from buying a championship.

There is some sort of contract or written agreement for payment but from my understanding the deals cannot be tied to the school so if you make a deal with the player you have to understand that there is a chance they can leave and there is absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Are you this naive? Do you not understand that as things stand you can pay a player a million dollars and if he wants to leave with the money and get paid again he can. So your million dollars bought nothing.
Now go back to the guy who put up the million and ask him for more money for the next hot-shot and see how willing that donor is to continue this give away.
I find it hilarious that some of you think this isn’t happening already. It is always easy to spend somebody else’s money. Then again you could pony up and give money to a player at LSU only to watch him go to Bama or A&M. I would bet you would love that scenario and just jump at the chance to do it again.
The point is that there has to be some sanity placed in NIL because there is none right now.

But the way the interim NCAA guidance is written, you can only pay players for work performed. So I assume the smart boosters aren't giving out massive up front cash payments.
I think Ewer's NIL agreement was for autographs. If he doesn't sign autographs for the company to sell, he doesn't get paid. Or at least that's how it's supposed to work.

Well here in the real world if a kid leaves let’s say Bama and goes elsewhere I suppose Bama’s donor sues the kid? Then what?
It makes every Bama (& I am using them for example) NIL agreement questionable to every incoming player. This would be a disaster for recruiting. Once again incoming kids at 17 cannot sign a legal contract.

Smart play by donors may be to just give the really good NILs to transfers. They are then locked in and can’t jump and play immediately, correct?

That is my understanding as well.

That was the old Southwest Conference. Eric Dickerson literally did this to aTm. They gave him a brand new Trans Am which he promptly got into and drove to Dallas to sign with SMU.

Correct but if he did sign those autographs then he gets the money that they agreed to no matter what school he plays for.
