Do you contemplate how many years you have left or do you have plans to keep you busy and happy?

Unfortunately I have like 18-20 years left unless I'm able to retire early.

I have about 3 years left. I'm looking forward to it.

Eff that noise. I have 10 years left

Yeah it sucks to think I've been doing this for almost 22 years now and I've still got that long to go

I am ready now but my wife that is 12 years younger than me wants to work 8-10 years longer for philosophical reasons which I understand. Since I actually love my job and I have enough time for my hobbies I will probably work until she decides to retire. The main thing I want to do in retirement I can't do now is travel 3-4 months a year and I have no interest in doing that alone.

Retired at 62... should have done it at 60. Life is good.

Thanks to CHF and an artificial mitral valve, if I really wanted, I could retire now and still avoid the extra tax you’d normally pay before 59. I’ve got enough in there to provide enough monthly income to live comfortably on. My plan though is to give them another 10 years and then call it a career. I enjoy my work and the people I work with.

What did you do about Healthcare until you could get on Medicare? I think that's going to be my problem with potentially retiring earlier

Retired and enjoy, but would rather be younger, healthier, and working.

I can retire next year but I have a kid still in school so I will probably stick it out a couple more years.

I retired January 2020 at 56. I've done quite a bit of side work though since hurricane Sally. Just can't help myself I guess.

Target date is 4 1/2 yrs away.

As long as I'm not miserable, have my health, a few other factors, I'll keep working as I pretty much make my own hours and I enjoy what I do.

Should something change before then and I no longer like what I do, I'll quit that day as I've prepared for retirement since day one out of college.

I hope to retire in 3-5 years if that counts.
