In this NIL era we should never lose instate prospects

If Woodard could gather 17 million for Coach O’s buyout then we should be able to gather money to put a fence around LOUISIANA (coaching change or not)

So you’re saying if they can chip in enough to fire a bad coach they should be able to kick in enough to hire good players?
Makes too much sense
I don’t know that I’d use the word NEVER but I’m withholding judgement for this season. All things considered the staff has done a fine job under the circumstances. But I agree they need to step up the NIL game

Difference is with recruiting you have to do it every year.

If I'm a company IDK if I want some of these kids representing my brand given how fickle some of these kids can be. The match has to be right. I mean a bank and an 18 year old is not going to add to the bank's brand. LOL. However Livvy Dunne and an activewear brand is a good fit. But give me a conduit to surreptitiously funnel money to them, then I'm in.

I'm sorry, but I hate what this has become.
We are rooting for guys to be paid the most money so they come to the school we root for.
This all seems surreal to me. It's all about who can get the best deals lined up to pay these guys.

Like it or not that’s what it is now. Everyone will have to do it every year
Gotta keep up or get outta the way.
Seems like a better investment to pay NIL for players than paying a coach to leave every 5 years

ROFLMFAO
That’s the way it’s ALWAYS been. Only now they actually have to pay taxes on this money like the rest of us.
If you don’t like how this is now then you don’t like capitalism. It’s that simple.

When will you guys understand that sometimes kids just don't want to stay here, in the state or the city (br specifically)?
Even with the caliber of LSU football being at an all-time high, even with NIL deals or pay guaranteed. Some kids just want to see what else is out there, and that's okay.

Yeah.. and what’s not okay is seeing Bama raid your entire WR class after what Devonta Smith did as an Alabama WR
Boosters better start throwing down for players and not these worthless upgrades on locker room beds if we want to stay relevant in CFB

Woody should have $20 mil lined up at this point of nil
Posted on 12/17/21 at 4:38 pm to TheFitfulFire
This applies only to Baton Rouge kids and players but not to Tuscaloosa kids and players? That’s complete bullshite! I agree that some kids want this but LSU needs to change that narrative and do whatever is working at Bama! We need to make it cool to stay at home and play for the Tigers instead of it being cool to leave for Bama. Peope need to stop giving into this bullshite like it’s just the way it is because that’s just not the case at all.

I see the admins put a quick stop to that guy trying to raise money for his “NIL” site

Unlike many of you I’ve never lived in BR and never want to, but I’d go there in a heartbeat over Tuscaloosa, Auburn, College Station, Oxford, etc.

NIL will be beneficial for about 5-6 schools who will buy all of the elite high school players and then poach good college players from other schools rosters. The rest of the college football world has no shot.

I was just sitting here thinking the same thing. We have to identify the top young in state talent and get them tied with NIL early. If we wait until they are seniors it is too late. We can stop Bama from poaching our kids if we become proactive instead of reactive

Start throwing your money hot shot.
Who the frick are any of us to tell boosters what to do with their money. That's the issue, everybody wants to point and demand.
Sorry but A&M and Bama will have more money to throw around. It is what it is

I understand Bama fans have come out of the woodwork nationwide since they’re the Yankees of college football, but why do Aggies inherently have more money?

Really?
Do a little research. A&m has the largest indowment behind only the ivy league schools, they have one of the highest amount of Alums in very high places.
Aggie and Texas have more money than even Bama can compete with in the long run

You do realize the Texas economy is 6x the size of Louisiana's. Hundred's of billions more to play with....

I agree. In its current form NIL is worse than the NFL. They have to find a way to cap this so that the players receive a reasonable amount of money without giving any school a competitive advantage.
