Trying move 100% away from AT&T and looking at verizon for cell service. For those that have it or had it what are your thoughts? Thanks.

Verizon is an American wireless network operator that previously operated as a separate division of Verizon Communications under the name of Verizon Wireless. In a 2019 reorganization, Verizon moved the wireless products and services into the divisions Verizon Consumer and Verizon Business, and stopped using the Verizon Wireless name. Verizon is the largest wireless carrier in the United States, with 121.3 million subscribers as of the end of Q2 2021.
The company is headquartered in Basking Ridge, New Jersey. It was founded in 2000 as a joint venture of American telecommunications firm Bell Atlantic, which would soon become Verizon Communications, and British multinational telecommunications company Vodafone. Verizon Communications became the sole owner in 2014 after buying Vodafone's 45-percent stake in the company.
It operates a national 4G LTE network covering about 99 percent of the U.S. population, which in the second half of 2020 won or tied for top honors in each category of the RootMetrics RootScore Reports. Verizon Wireless offers mobile phone services through a variety of devices. Its LTE in Rural America Program, with 21 rural wireless carriers participating, covers 2.7 million potential users in 169 rural counties. Verizon Wireless announced in 2015 that it was developing a 5G, or fifth-generation, network.

Where are you located? Do you live in a house or apartment?

We left AT&T for Verizon.
It's fine...we have a little better service at our house, but it's not life changing better.

They all suck. You just have to find what works well in the places that you live, work and frequent. I switched from Verizon to AT&T earlier this year. It is better in one primary place that Verizon was terrible, but is worse in some areas.

They bought Alltel and eventually sold most of that to AT&T.

I've been with Verizon for probably 10 years or so now.
No issues with them at all. The signal at my house isn't great so I called them. They checked on it, agreed and sent me a booster.

I also did this and the improvement in coverage in rural areas was amazing.

It’s solid. I had it for years until bundling ATT was too cheap to pass up.

I like it better. The only ATT product I use is the wifi.

Verizon is really expensive but does have some nice perks included if you use them. I have the Disney Bundle and Apple Music included in mine and my wife's plan. We use both a ton so it's nice to have. You can also look at Visible. They are Verizon's prepaid carrier. You can get on a party plan with other people and pay as little as $25 per line for unlimited everything. If my company didn't pay for my phone bill I would be on Visible. Not sure about Lafayette but after Ida Verizon's data speed hasn't been as good as it was before in BR.

Those frickers are charging me $234/month for 3 phones. That was when I had u-verse and internet with them. Now that I got rid of their tv it will probably be more.

Coverage is pretty good. Customer service is bad, really bad and they keep changing their plans and will force you into new plans along the way. I had them for a long, long time and left for T-mobile (which doesn't have as good of coverage) due to being tired of getting jacked around.
They had unlimited hotspot and mobile data on a plan I was on and then did away with the hotspot portion. I travel enough I use a shite ton of data and that ended up killing my usage of them.
