Someone explain the inbound violation

I’m not understanding what the referee called because Gaines had both feet out of bounds on the throw in

I couldn’t see a violation and I rewatched it three times.

Gaines was standing in the court when he passed it. You have to be out of bounds to inbound the ball.

No he wasn’t he’s was out of bounds when he tried to block the ball it was just quick and the ref blew that call

So did I and I saw the same. Clearly out of bounds. You can also add the GaTech player was screaming right in Gaines’ face too. That guy’s been talking trash all game. I believe that’s why reid got that foul on the way up the court because the guy said something to him.

Don’t know what game you were watching. Ref missed that one big time. Horrible call. Looked like a bad call live - even worse w replay. Amazing that Gaines or Wade didn’t even seem to mind. Guess Wade was thinking “Oh well just another turnover by my point guard.” WTF?

Said in the game thread that Wilkinson got a tech for something WAY less than that after a blocked shot.

The ONLY THING it could possibly be was the fact that he just "tapped" the ball in, and didn't CONTROL it then pass it in. Even still, I don't think That's a violation.

I agree that you see players all the time just tap the ball or quick one hand touch of the ball for a quick inbound.
