I think the traitor is worried.

Roberts joined the high court’s three liberal justices in discussing the constitutionality of the Texas abortion law.

WASHINGTON — The chief justice of the United States, John Roberts, warned Friday that the Supreme Court risks losing its own authority if it allows states to circumvent the courts as Texas did with its near-total abortion ban.

In a strongly worded opinion joined by the high court’s three liberal justices, Roberts wrote that the "clear purpose and actual effect" of the Texas law was "to nullify this Court’s rulings." That, he said, undermines the Constitution and the fundamental role of the Supreme Court and the court system as a whole.

The opinion was a remarkable plea by the chief justice to his colleagues on the court to resist the efforts by right-wing lawmakers to get around court decisions they dislike, in this case Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision that made abortion legal in the United States, within limits. But in this case, his urgent request was largely ignored by the other justices on the court who were appointed by Republicans.

Supreme Court is not above the law of nature despite many believing so. As well, if it can be done, then how is it circumventing the Supreme Court? The Texas legislature is at least an (large) assembly of people elected by the people. The USSC is a small group of lawyers chosen by the elite. Who really should have more authority in this matter?

Roberts is a pos and we all know it. They have something on his arse. I’ll bet being caught in bed with a kid or him and Epstein were best buds. Obama nailed him.

This is confusing. Isn’t this the way it is supposed to work? Legislative makes the laws and judicial interprets the laws.

Didn't the Court undermine the Constitution with its own power grab long ago?

What in the...

Do I need to explain the common law to a USSC chief justice?

Or ask him why Plessy v. Ferguson isn't the law of the land?

The Supreme Court risks losing its authority if it continues to find 'rights' in the Constitution that don't exist in the Constitution as written. It also risks losing its authority if it continues to be politicized and issues rulings that again, have nothing to do with the rule of law.

John Roberts will go down as one of the worst justices in the history of the court because he wants the court to be something it is not. It's not totally his fault, Congress has abjured its Constitutional responsibility and has ceased legislating, essentially deferring it's authority to the SCOTUS, which has naturally politicized the court and made it unduly influential. This needs to stop.

Supreme Court decisions shouldn't make something 'legal', the passing of a law by elected representatives following the Constitutional process, is what makes something 'legal', not the opinion of a bunch of unelected judges. That whole statement is fricked up.

This should be states rights just like elections, and the FBI should not get involved in law enforcement acting as crowd control during local school board meetings.
