The “pros” of leaving are now all at LSU.

1. New coach
2. New OC
3. No returning starter to compete with. He has more starts than Nuss.

Now you add the pros he had before Kelly came:

1. Chemistry with receivers
2. Familiarity with LSU and BR
3. Love for the tigers

I truly don’t see a benefit in transferring now.

The biggest downside is if we're bringing an offensive coordinator who wants to use the QB in the running game.

Which, I'm told, we do.

You'd have to put that part of the playbook on the shelf if Myles is the QB unless he somehow got with Flint and completely transformed his body.

him bailing is one of the dumber moves Ive seen a player make yet w the transfer...well see if he wises up before its too late.

Its a stretch to say he has chemistry with the receivers at this point. He seemed to like to go to Jenkins, but all of the rest are too young to have really caught any passes from him.

It was the absolute best option for him, at that time.

Agreed. At that time for sure

This is pure ignorance. He patiently waited his turn for years, throughout several coordinator changes. When it finally was his turn, Burrow showed up - and Brennan waited again. With Max playing well enough in his absence to maintain the spot last season, his only move was to transfer. How is Brennan's decision to transfer any different than Burrow's?

I would love to have him back considering the recent changes in the QB situation, but you cant blame him for leaving when he did. He has enough talent to get a look in the league, possibly even be drafted with a solid senior campaign. He's supposed to give that up and watch from the bench to appease you?

zero chance Brennan will come back or be our starter next year. Zero.

He would have an advantage simply because of experience (though it really isn't all that much). But his physical abilities somewhat limit what you can do on offense. He is zero threat as a runner. Both in designed runs AND just the ability to escape for a first down (which Johnson could do and presumably the others can as well).

If the new OC wants those elements in his offense, then I doubt Brennan has much of a "leg up" on any of the other guys. It is not a "make or break" year for Kelly. He may be just fine with letting one of the younger guys develop

If he comes back, he's 99% the starter. The OC hire will make a big difference in this too.

Other than that, Im not sure he should. If he can go to Southern Miss and get a mid to late round grade - he'll be better off. He shouldnt have to be constantly looking over his shoulder.

I've heard this morning that Kelly's belief is that once a guy chooses to leave, there is no bringing him back. He wants to have one of his own guys and isn't interested in holding onto guys from past regimes, including coaches. Wouldn't surprise me to see a brand new QB at the helm next year, not even Nuss.

Nuss reminds me a lot of Ian Book. Maybe BK has made it known that he wants to go with Nuss?

Just curious, where did you hear this?

Brennan chose to explore transferring BEFORE Kelly was hired. It's not as if Brennan had played for Kelly before, chose to leave, then is asking to return. The situations are different here.

Good coaches don't unnecessarily dump good players simply because of some personal credo. If he thinks a guy from last years team is good enough to help him win next season he is going to keep that guy.

He hasn't officially signed elsewhere, so he hasn't really left

A very big con is the fact that the program and team is going through a major rebuild as we are seeing.

Does he want to deal with that, the chance of things going south for a season here until the new regime gets their things in order.

If I'm in his shoes, I'm attempting to find a program that has a regime that has been in place and I just have to step in and learn the offense that's already implemented. It also helps since the entire offense won't be learning, just he will.

only 10-12 QBs getting drafted every year.

You honestly think Brennan will be one of the dozen top draft-eligible QBs after next year?

If he is as good as the rant fanboys make him out to be, of course he will be drafted.
