Help identifying a plantation in a movie

There’s been a discussion in my house as to where it was filmed. This is in House on the Bayou. The movie was filmed in “New Orleans proper.” But that could be a wide range of places.
If you want to even call it a plantation. It’s borderline, IMO.

It all depends on the land it's on.

It’s a nice house, don’t know if I would call it a plantation.

Is that the house in Beau Chene?

Looks to me like something in the front part of Ormond .
ETA Ormond the subdivision i mean, not the plantation itself .

I don't think you can determine if it was a plantation based on the picture of the house. Pretty sure sites are former plantations where people that stayed there farmed it for crops.

Ormond plantation is hideous.

IMDB says it was actually shot in Lacomb, not New Orleans (which is what the Wiki page said).

The majority of plantation houses weren’t the massive Greek revival/neoclassical mansions that are still around today.
The majority were smaller and less grandiose. This is an example of a mid to upper mid level plantation home in terms of size and design. It’s also been lived in continuously and has been modernized slightly.

It was good. Limbaugh raved about it (and the buffalo wings ["they're all right wings"])

Yeah. The big popular homes that are still around today are mostly the 1% of the 1%. The families that owned those homes typically owned SEVERAL plantations.

My butler requests that you take down these pictures of his home.

House on the Bayou.
Ultra-hilariously, they made up a fake municipality for the sheriff: Verge COUNTY!
Literally, the ONE THING you have to get right about a movie that is loudly set in LOUISIANA.

Looks like it could be Tranquility Plantation in Slidell. I dont see the house on the satellite map, but pics at this site appear to be similar.
