Pens. You got a CGM? The difference in quality of life between finger sticks and a CGM is much greater than b/w pens and a pump, IMHO.

Does the pump bother you at all? I know my doctor would prefer that I use a pump but I haven't gotten to that point mentally.

My daughter uses the omnipod. She plays sports and can’t have the tslim dangling during a game

Medtronic. Don’t let them talk you into the CGM system. shite is totally unreliable and just another bill for supplies. Use the Medtronic tech , record what what you eat accurately along with you BG numbers and he can have you dialed in with a couple of visits.
Exercise makes it much more easy to get consistent levels. Main thing is own it and never stop educating yourself.
You will find that certain foods are like a multiplier on BG for the next day and beyond. Learn to avoid them. The pump is the only way to go, many times people feel so bad for so long they forget what it feels like to have it controlled

I used the Medtronic one for about a decade with their CGM and it was good. Switched about 2-3 years ago to the Omnipod with the Dexcom CGM and will never switch back. I didn’t realize how much better life would be without that tube. The only downside is it holds 2/3 the insulin of the Medtronic pump so if you use an absurd amount per day you likely won’t make it the full 3 days before you have to swap. I’m a 35 year old very active father of 3 and don’t have any issues with it falling out or anything just FYI

Wife (no pics) uses OmniPod with a Dexcom. Allows us to monitor her blood sugar and you can set up levels that alarm based on highs and lows. There are times where the OmniPods/Dexcom fail, but both companies have been great about getting replacements out quickly when she files a claim.

I think this is common for a lot of people who have dealt with Type-1 for a large portion of their lives. From what I've seen and heard (volunteered with JDRF for a few years), everyone who has made the change to pods have appreciated the ease of them once they get used to them. There's probably a transition period with getting used to it, but it seems like the full-time monitoring, ease of bolusing, and not having to stick your finger multiple times a day or inject insulin multiple times a day has been worth it for them.
