Taxidermist Recommendations for Deer Mount

Looking for recommendations for a taxidermist in the Baton Rouge area but don't mind traveling 2-3 hrs if needed for the right person to do a mount. Any help is appreciated as the last deer I had mounted was 30 years ago.

All I can say is he prepared for sticker shock. $700-900 for a shoulder mount isn’t crazy anymore. They guy we used to go to is backed up 3 years. You forget what the deer looks like in that time.

Yep, understand that the price is high but compared to a new truck I’m not gonna complain.

imagine being in college in 2006 and getting the bill for $325....thats like a month's worth of food.
Worth it

Never been into the mounts, always just took a picture and had it framed.

Guy Adam's as well. I've been using him for about 10 years now. Always does a great job and very nice to to sit and talk hunting with.

our new rule is that it would have to be the best buck in the room to earn a shoulder mount...otherwise its getting the Euro Mount treatment...which is very nice as well.

They completely f'ed up a euro for me and then tried to tell me it was how I treated the deer before I brought it to them.
They bleached the skull and ruined the antler bases but tried to use stain to cover it up and broke the nose pieces and when I called them on it they claimed I damaged before I brought it in when I didn't even skin the head before I dropped it off and they even had a charge for skinning it. I know lots of guys speak really highly of them but my experience was not great.

another vote for Guy, he has mounted several of my animals including a shoulder mount on my moose, very pleased with everything he has done, a great person as well

I’ve read OP multiple times now and can’t find where he asked opinions on if people like mounts or not

Guy Adams has done two ducks for me and a deer. Will never go to anyone else as long as he is in business.

I have used Harry Vermalean in Pineville, LA.
He is established, experienced, fair and gets your mount back. I have killed midwest deer and La piney woods deer, they all look like the deer looked on the hoof. Neck size, coat, eyes, really have been happy.
