First they came for the gas stoves, then they came for the washing machines.

How Biden's New Washing Machine Regulations Could Ruin Laundry Day
All in the name of fighting the faux crisis of "climate change".
All in the name of fighting the faux crisis of "climate change".
quote:
Biden's Energy Department last month proposed new efficiency standards for washing machines that would require new appliances to use considerably less water, all in an effort to "confront the global climate crisis." Those mandates would force manufacturers to reduce cleaning performance to ensure their machines comply, leading industry giants such as Whirlpool said in public comments on the rule. They'll also make the appliances more expensive and laundry day a headache—each cycle will take longer, the detergent will cost more, and in the end, the clothes will be less clean, the manufacturers say.

It will work like low flow toilets and end up using more water

All of them can die and go to hell

Just replaced the pump and belts in my 1980s Maytag washer, no regulations can kill this beast. Hopefully it’ll out last regime changes until freedom is restored and manufactures can build as they please.

Every single fricking thing … everything just HAS to be controlled by these fricks.
If you ever wondered how they felt in 1932 Germany, now you do.

Washing machines have sucked for several years now.

The washing machines they make nowadays fricking suck and break within a few years.
Meanwhile the old Kenmore you sent to the camp that was purchased in the Reagan administration is still working perfectly.

Assuming you are really going to run, we don't even know your name. I'm assuming you will be be angling for "write in". Your beliefs seem genuine. Who do we "write in" though? Hell, you may eventually throw out a commercial or vid, but until then, who are you? Sorry if I've missed you announce it before.

So I’ll wash one pair of jeans at a time. My husband is a farmer and his clothes can be disgusting depending on the time of year or what happens on a regular day. Less water does NOT get that level of dirt clean.
These people are idiots.

People who fly private everywhere will be all for this!

My parents still have Maytag washer dryer set from before they got married in 1983. A few maintenance and service jobs along the way but they're not showing any signs of wearing out. I'm sure those machines will make 50 years.

The fancy digital controlled high efficiency machines sucks arse and don’t clean clothes very well. Replaced mine with a speed Queen and haven’t looked back

These idiots don’t realize it or care that you’ll have the wash clothes three times to get them clean…

There is a recycled toilet water option built right in, if necessary.

Used to have an HE washing machine. It didn't clean the clothes well, didn't rinse well, and sounded like a dying moose. These climate change nutjobs need to stop fricking with our appliances.

Bought a GE commercial grade high capacity washer. It uses a shite load of water but my clothes smell like a spring morning.

king of the hill - low flow toilets
Energy efficient washers = low flow toilets. The only difference is laundry takes substantially longer than shitting. They are stealing your life.

quote:Remember when clothes washing machines used lots of water, and actually got your clothes clean. Now we get TV ads for this stuff to keep your clothes from smelling like swamp arse.
and in the end, the clothes will be less clean, the manufacturers say.

Now they want them to use even less water. Time to invest in another Speed Queen.
