Why has western culture declined both here and abroad?

It has to be related to media, entertainment, and the internet. That’s the only thing that connects us here in the U.S. to the UK, Australia, etc… yet we are all experiencing the same cultural issues.
Younger generations must be influenced by the same music, movies, tv shows, internet, social media, etc, and it all sends horrible messages to young people across the West. Lots of people roll their eyes when you blame movies and video games, but how could those things combined with music and social media and everything else not influence people and rot the culture?
Young people are impressionable, and it’s clear that the signals that have been sent their way for a few decades has caused things to go awry, both here and abroad.

In Europe, an influx of immigrants who do not share nor respect Western values.
In America, a slow burn of social Marxist ideology, then a quick uptick of it in the past few years.

Divorces, sub-par / distracted parenting, and too much focus on consumerism...are not helping

Maybe the problem lies with the receivers and not the transmitters.

It's been mixed with more primitive cultures from around the world. Those primitive cultures have struggled to adapt and learn.
ETA: Although it is much harder for a primitive culture to adapt if they are starting at a major disadvantage, like slavery. Which means Western culture has evolved in some ways since slavery is no longer a thing.

Values and culture change over time(for better or worse) and these are reflected in the movies, music, entertainment, art, and books of the era they are in. And youth is the driving force of these changes. It’s always been like this. Every generation has their time in the sun until the next one comes along. You can’t fight it.

Young people are being educated by leftist losers. Many parents are content to let school raise their kids. The church is not a part of life for a lot of people. The mainstream media is controlled by the same leftist elite that controls public education.

People seek happiness in all the wrong places. They see fake lives of luxury and bliss on social media and grow bitter and resentful because they lack what they think would make them happy. At the same time, we numb our senses and isolate ourselves from our communities with technology to avoid confronting that we are an increasingly isolated, fragmented, and unhappy people.
A truly happy life comes from living a virtuous life and lifting yourself up as well as your community to promote human flourishing. The only sort of empathy and effort I see from people to lift themselves and their their fellow man up these days is done to farm upvotes and accolades from social media, with no regard for actions that would actually promote a better and happier self and community.

Capitalism, it’s brought us the best of things and the worst of things. It’s such a triggering word, most peoples biases and ideology won’t get them past the first word. They will think that I am promoting communism or the likes, but I’m not. I will be downvoted and the post about the left destroying the culture will be upvoted, but leftism and liberalism is a byproduct of capitalism or at least post modernism.
What you are describing is youth culture, some thing that did not exist 100 years ago. Teenagers aimed to be like their parents and other elders who they spent much time with living in tightknit community. This is how we have lived for hundreds of thousands of years up until recently. Now we have parabolic change, and no time to adapt.
It’s true media has a huge influence on us. We seek belongingness, it’s an evolutionary adaptation not just assimilation, but ascension of a system. The most popular systems we live in today, is beauty, consumerism, and then far down the line, politics and religion. If we don’t define our values and consciously choose what is important to us, media will make that decision for us. Mimetic desire.
We have traded a group identity for radical individuality, and postmodernism has created an existential crisis, where people do not know where they belong, or what they should do.
People used to know their purpose they woke up and hunted or work the field, they describe themselves as a part of this tribe or son of John, felt shame when they embarrassed their community.
now people describe themselves as quirky, creative, hard worker, and are compelled to maximize every moment of their life and feel guilty when they lay on the couch, instead of go to the gym, or don’t work the extra hours, so they can buy the nicer thing.

1-2 years of lockdowns with nothing but social media, Netflix, video games, and porn was the gas on top of the fire.
