Nothing against Collins, I'm sure he'll be good, and Nuss is set up to do well, but will LSU ever be at the point where we are truly in the mix for the top tier QB recruits? I know we've done well in the portal, but any time I see the top of the list of quarterbacks I just assume LSU isn't in it, usually Ohio State, Georgia, Clemson, Alabama, etc.

Trust in Kelly, but I don't really know his history in terms of recruiting that position.

Colin Hurley is currently committed to LSU. He was a 5 star QB for the 2025 class and reclassified to the 2024 class where his ranking was bumped down against kids that are an entire year older than him. Watch his film, he's incredible and is just finishing up his sophomore year of highschool. He can also throw a football over 60mph (Patrick mahomes esque). He has great touch and a beautiful deep ball.

I think we have to see how Hurley's reclassification plays out for his upcoming senior year. In 2025 he was a top 3 QB prospect.

-Bryce Underwood & George MacIntyre are the only two QB's with offers from Joe Sloan in the 2025 class who were both on campus earlier in the year.

-George MacIntyre has been to campus multiple times. He also plays basketball and holds those offers as well. LSU firmly in the mix. Good feeling for LSU to have their QB room set up.

-How the times have changed with LSU getting these big names at QB on campus.

-He visited the LSU-Alabama game. Tennessee will be main competition but LSU could have him back in the summer for camp.

I’d imagine that if or when our current QBs show that they’ve progressed into star QBs then the momentum from that will be advantageous for LSU to then start recruiting nationally ranked QBs from that point on. It sure would help get their attention and be proof for the parent and the recruits that LSU is one of the premier schools for QBs to develop their talents. For now we can try to reach out and I’m sure they are but to be in it with multiple QBs in the top 10, we will need some momentum from the current players and show case them on national TV.

What do you consider top tier? Howard was a top QB recruit. Daniels and Nuss were high 4 stars. Development matters more so than ranking out of HS

See, I know very little about recruiting. Forgot about Hurley.

Thanks for answering my question so fervently, everyone

Jeez Jonah Williams 6'3 200lbs already.. that's a big kid! If he has some speed to go with that elite size, he's going to be an absolute stud in a few years.

Collins will either surprise a lot of people and end up being a solid or better starter here or he will end up transferring in a few years to a UL Lafayette type of school and look very good there.

That is not a knock on anyone at all, I just feel like he may end up caught between Nuss and Hurley and not have a chance to really show himself here so may feel the need to explore playing options elsewhere.

I hope my nephew gets mentioned in one of these posts soon Cap.

Plays in ATL and had a ton of coaches there yesterday including I believe one representing LSU. Didn't get the name, but was told it could have been the new DL coach coming from USCe.

2025 kid. Laderion Williams in Douglasville, GA.
6'5 pushing 300 LBs and looking at a sub 4.8 forty or lower on laser. Working to get his On3 profile updated.

My sister is an LSU grad and would love it be a dream come true. He went viral last year on ESPN competing in the big men's track event. He caught a cramp and flung the baton after he had a nice lead.

DL 2025 On3 highlights Keep an eye on this page.

Your nephew's profile lists him as an interior offensive lineman, but he looks really good as a defensive lineman to me, especially for a sophomore

I'm not sure where extremely old starts but it's got to be close to my age, 61.

How early can a recruit be offered a scholarship? 2026 is a Freshman, I did not realize we could offer that early.

Do they recruit younger than that? Do they actually look at 7th and 8th graders at the youth camps? Thx

Sorry I just now saw this.
