12 channels? Really?

quote:

The 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards are scheduled to air Sunday at 8 PM ET on MTV ... with simulcasts on:

BET
BET Her
Comedy Central
CMT
Logo
MTV2
Nickelodeon
Paramount Network
Pop
TV Land
VH1

Oh, it will also not have a host, nor an audience, and it will not be live

quote:

The MTV Movie & TV Awards are going on without a host ... and now there won't be a live audience anymore either.

The upcoming award show, set to air Sunday on a bunch of TV channels, is pivoting away from a live audience ... according to Paramount Global exec Bruce Gillmer.

Viacom has been doing this for all of its award shows including the MTV Music Awards for a while now. It isn't anything new.

Award shows are as antiquated as late night talk shows, in my view. Both should be put out to pasture.

This almost feels like a scheme to make people end their cable subscriptions.

Some channel surfers are going to be mad when the same thing is on so many channels.

Will the other eleven wait on comedy central's eight-minute commercial breaks?

Shouldn’t YouTube be awarding video trophies by now?

No one said anything about race but you, a race baiting, virtue signalling, cry baby. Is this your retort for every argument?

I thought Drew Barrymore was hosting? At least that's what every fricking commercial break while watching South Park on CC has told me.

Oh nevermind, it's because of the writers strike.

Not sure why you didn't mention the reason for this decision.
