CKSON, Tenn. (AP) — Authorities say a Tennessee man was killed by a Rottweiler that he had adopted just hours earlier. Multiple news organizations report 57-year-old Anthony Riggs's wife called deputies Thursday afternoon upon returning home and finding her husband unresponsive on the floor.

It's like people refuse to remember dogs are animals.

My dog is half lab and half bloodhound and people mistake him for a Rottweiler all the time. Hope he doesn't try to give his ball to any cops to play fetch.

I told the apartments I lived in back when I had goat dog that he was part lab, part b&t coonhound instead of lab/rott like he was.

This happened down the road from me.
Dog had to have had rabies or something..I wasnt there but people that were said by the time the wife found the body the dog had been eating for awhile.
I want to know how the wife and whoever she was with got the dog out of the house..which is where the Cops found the dog

People don't want to hear it but you this is a risk with every pound dog (not exactly death, but aggression/bites).
You don't know their history, breed, disposition, their lineage.
It's why I advise people with small children to buy purebred.

Sad story.
Normally really great dogs.
People really need to take the time to get to know adoption dogs. You can't push them too fast.
