Talk to your teen boys and young men

Snapchat scam going around Baton Rouge and LSU with someone claiming to be a cute chick and starts communicating with him. They then gets videos of the guy “communicating” with the girls and then send them all back to him with a video of all of his contacts. Not sure how they are doing it but they are. My son knows of three college age boys it’s happened too recently. Very sophisticated scam going on with people doing this. They blackmail for $2-3000 each and don’t care that you tell them you don’t have any money.
My son said one boy went to his parents and they paid it for him after he saw they did send it out on another bc one boy didn’t pay.
He said they are using random names attached to Venmo accounts with no friends.
Said one boy was on FT with the men who are doing it and said they were Arab men.
Talk to your sons and tell them not to get scammed by some random cute girl if she starts texting him. There have been people commit suicide from this kind of stuff.

My cynical little spawns will have all the knowledge they need to navigate the minefield of modern life. At the end of the day, it will still be logic and reason vs hormones and vagina. I don't have high hopes but we'll mitigate the risk as much as possible.

Yes, they are fapping and it’s recorded. Think about your contact list for a second. Do you want all of them seeing you fapping to some chick. These boys would be humiliated by everyone. Then those people that see it will then send it on and before you know it everyone has seen them. They are early in the life stages and will soon be trying to get careers and families. This could follow them forever. Not a good situation.
Just mention it to any young boys and men you know to make them aware.

They think they are fapping to some pretty young girl after she probably asked them for it. Then it comes back to haunt you.
And you’d be surprised how many young boys fall for it at that age. Not enough self awareness at that age.

Young and impressionable kids. They get scammed and the potential embarrassment shame (real or fake) is enough to make them pay what they can or spiral into depression.
Many young kids have taken their lives over this sort of scam and it’s sickening. Being honest and open with your kids may save their life one day.

I couldn’t agree with you more. My son knows all of this this too and the boys he knows of are all good kids. Good families. Just weren’t thinking with their brains at the time.
