Does anyone know of who the can contact around Morgan city or Houma to dispose of an American flag? Is there a Boy Scout troop or VVA outfit that does official flag burning ceremonies? I have a flag that needs to be properly disposed.

Do people really do that still? With as many flags as people fly, I have a hard time thinking they all get disposed of properly.

You can do it yourself. Fold it properly, salute the flag as it’s burning, and have you and your family say the pledge.

Fold it up and bring it to the camp. Place it in fire.

Sometimes local Boy Scouts will do it.
Do you have a National Guard or Army Reserve unit close by? They will handle it.

More resources if you aren't allowed to burn it by the HOA.

Your local VFW should be able to help you.

We replace ours every year in June. Once the LSU baseball season is over we take down the baseball flag and put up the stars and bars until the week before Labor Day/ Football. Normally we wait until football season to burn it in our fire pit so now I just need this burn ban lifted and some cooler weather.

Boy Scout troops usually collect and dispose of old flags.

Local Ace here in town takes them and gives to Boy Scouts for disposal

VFW or American Legion will handle it.

Christ dude, Louisiana just told not to barbecue at tailgates, is it so far fetched? Just like there are fireworks bans, there are a lot of HOAs, etc., where they restrict what you light on fire and how.
So yeah, it's possible. You baws downvoting a link to the Boy Scouts, the American Legion, etc., are really something else.
