Texas House Bill 3 Armed Officer at every campus Fall 2023

House Bill 3 goes into effect this fall for TX schools
A new law that takes effect this September will require Texas school districts to have an armed officer on every campus. And if a district is unable to do this, it must have a 'good cause exception' with an alternative plan

It's a shame this is necessary

I’d prefer we just have armed teachers/admins.

Gathering kids into an unprotected space is only a recent phenomenon. Our descendants will view it as one of the dumbest things we ever did.

Banning gun free zones would be more effective.

Useless fodder for morons. If Texas wanted to pass something meaningful, they’d pass a law saying cops can be held liable for doing jack shite.

Could have done this nationally with all the Ukraine $

Our community approved a tax in 2019 to fund 21 police officers to be in the 16 schools in the district from open to close.

Louisiana cannot even figure out to turn an interstate into multiple lanes after coming off a bridge in Baton Rouge.
Louisiana will continue to vote incompetents as governors and leaders. Next up, Landry.

Good start. Need to have a security team at each school with modern surveillance Tech. The wackos are targeting these “gun free” facilities.

These teachers are entitled to carry elsewhere, concealed or otherwise as infringy laws may dictate. What’s special about the border of school property that makes them suddenly not entitled to do the same thing they could do off school property?
No one suggests requiring every teacher to carry. However, I’d imagine at least one, probably multiple, teachers, administrators, heck janitors, in each school are already at least as proficient with guns as law enforcement officers. Why not let them carry on school grounds what they already carry off school grounds?

A) I wouldn’t trust most of my coworkers to carry responsibly.
B) kids are fricking insane these days. It just takes one instance of the wrong kid finding out who has what for shite to get bad.
