Anyone travel for work?

Just got an offer with a 15k pay raise (nothing crazy) and I’d only have to be in the office 3x a week. The stipulation is I’d have to travel once a month for 1-2 days. I’ve never really traveled that frequently for work before and am not sure how I feel about that. Mainly considering leaving not for the money but because I do not like my current work environment. Any thoughts/experiences

That’s honestly not a lot of travel.

I have worked for a company for 20+ years and travel a week at a time about 1/4 or so of the year. I enjoy it personally, I do not enjoy commercial air travel, but it has afforded me a chance to visit places I would likely never have visited.
get a trip to HI for a week in July for work - no cost to me :)

1-2 days once a month is nothing. If anything it's more of a sponsored vacation.

I used to have to in my previous job a bit. I actually enjoyed it. I got to see awesome places (Provo in Utah for example) I'd never likely go to on my own.
My dad always hated travel, but he's have to go to places like Midland and Odessa. He used to say living in a hotel out of a suitcase all the time sucks.

Those are some rookie numbers. If your family is good with you being gone for that short amount of time then go for it.

I fly out of MSY every other week. I usually leave Monday morning after I take the kids to school and I am home Wednesday night before bedtime.
I did about 120 flights last year.

That doesn't seem bad.

Take it.
After making sure 1-2 days won’t stretch to 1-2 weeks.
That’s where you become a divorced alcoholic drinking beer in an Applebees because you have no idea where you are.

I had a job when I was younger and had to travel one week every month, it wasn't bad when I was single and no kids
It would have been a lot harder to do that way
I enjoyed it for awhile but it did get old and you are guaranteed to have flight delays at some point
1/2 days out of town is not bad at all though

I travel a good bit for work. Some more local Texas, Miss, Alabama. But sometimes Canada as well.
Are you young? Do you have a wife and kids?
I have a wife and 2 kids....they are 3 and 5. It's tough on her when I am gone for a week or more. And it's a tough on me missing out on times with the kids. FaceTime only does so much.
I enjoy seeing other parts of the country/world. I have been traveling for about 15 years now.
It's not even a question to do it young with no kids and wife. Absolutely do it!
But if you have a family, ask your company if you can do a 3 to 6 month trial basis and see how you feel about it.

I don't travel for work, and I travel 1-2 days a month for work.
Point is, that's not enough to be considered traveling for work IMO.

I used to. Not sure I could do it today as air travel has gotten to be such an awful experience.
But 1-3 days a month really isn’t that bad. I was on the rod 1-2 weeks a month.

That really doesn't seem like much. I'd go for it.
The first "real job" I had we travelled 3-4 times a month for 3-4 days at a time. Basically leave on Sunday or Monday and come home Thursday or Friday.

Absolutely do it. She can take vacation sometimes and you can make a fun trip with her. My wife tells me all the time she misses just chilling at the hotel pool with a book while I am at work.
That option isn't available now.ha
I think it would be a good idea to do it.
