My children are grown and my wife is cool with being alone with the dog. I would make 50% less if I wanted to be home every night.

No, but I wish I did. Just stuck in the office all the time.

Glad this thread came up might need to look into getting one.

If I had no family, I’d rather be on the road 5 days a week than sit in an office 5 days.

These days with kids, 2-3 days a week on the road and the rest working at home is preferable to sitting at a desk in the office all week.

Same!

Been in gov contract work for 29yrs.

Travel was nonstop during the height of the wars and slowly petered out.

Kids grew up and left home. Wife left 2yrs ago. Now i sit in an office all day doing monotonous bullshite.

Maybe I should search too. TY OP!

1-2 days a month isn’t traveling. Being in West Virginia for 3 weeks is traveling.

8 nights a month for me. Business development. 2 nights a month sounds great for a 15k pay raise.

I traveled for about 15-20 weeks per year at my last job for 7-8 years. It just got too hard on my wife having the kids by herself so I transferred roles within the same company.

I traveled all over the US, some to Canada, Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico etc. To really small towns and big cities. It was fun sometimes but got old. It would have been a blast if would have been young and single.

So they've now back tracked on the 1-2 days and said it just depends on the situation and that I'd have to stay longer if needed. Like I get it, but I really don't have any desire to be gone for up to a week every month.

I’d take a pay decrease for the opportunity to only be in office 3 days a week and travel once a month.

Driving or flying?

Either way that’s really nothing.

I traveled every other week for almost 20 years and loved it. Mostly local but some national and international. I couldn’t stand to be in an office all day every day.
