Endoscopic Sinus Surgery - Any of y'all had that procedure ? If so, did it help you ?

I'm scheduled to have this done in a couple of weeks...hoping this will end the multiple sinus infections I get each year.

It’s a little painful. I would say it’s nothing to sneeze at.

Getting your HIV viral load down would help more

Yes, no complications. It did resolve my sinus problem.

Thanks. What was the recovery time ? Were you able to go back to work in a day or so ?

I had that along with rhinoplasty. The first week after was the most miserable I've ever been. I had the worst sinus issues my Dr said he's seen. 3 weeks after was alot better. 3 months after is the best I've ever felt. Didn't know I could feel that good. It's definitely worth it. Good luck

Yes, along with rhinoplasty. I wish I would’ve done it 10 years earlier. Had polyps and a deviated septum. From many sinus infections every year to maybe one per but being able to breathe unrestricted was an absolute life changing event

Did you not ask the surgeon about recovery time?

When I buy an item on Amazon, I read the seller’s description and specs. But I also like to read the reviews of the people who have experienced the item. Knowledge is power.

Had that along with a rhinoplasty two years ago, best decision I have ever made. Recovery wasn’t bad. My doc didn’t use packing (supposedly that’s how you know your surgeon is truly skilled at the procedure). Three days post op I had to start doing the salt water nasal rinses with a liquid antibiotic mixed in it. The amount of crap that came out was unbelievable. Just have to get through that first week and it gets better.

What was the recovery time?

I was able to go home right after the surgery. I took a few days off but didn't really need to.

I had it a month ago. Mine was pretty extensive as I have really bad sinus issues. You might have some residual headaches for a few weeks, but the overall recovery wasn't so bad. Probably have sore nasal area for a while. I still do.

“ I had the worst sinus issues my Dr. said he’s seen “

Hate to burst your bubble but Drs.tell everybody that.Take gallbladder surgery,it’s always the worst case they’ve ever seen or the most gallstones or the biggest gallstones. Some variation of that for most every surgery.

I think it’s to lessen the pain when pt. gets the bill.

Same. Changed my life.

Got them done when I was in high school at the same time I had my tonsils removed, so I won't speak to the recovery since I did so much at once. But man, that surgery changed my life for real.

I had no idea I was breathing so uncomfortably until I discovered the comfort that is breathing out of your nose during sleep. It's like I went from unrested without knowing it, to the most rested I had ever been.

I still get some sinus infections (have a mild one right now), but it's not the multiple times a year full out infection paired with tonsillitis that it was before.

I had it done to remove an egg sized tumor out my maxillary sinus cavity. So probably a lot more intense than a regular sinus surgery. I went home same day. Took week and a half off of work, but honestly I probably could’ve gone back after a few days. Worst part was nose bleeds. I was on pain pills for that week though so never really had much pain

The first deep breath after they take the stints/packing out is one of the most amazing things you’ll ever experience. You’ll learn that those saline nasal flush bottles are also amazing.

I had the roto footer done, and one of my nostrils. I had plastic splints in for a week. No packing. I passed out when he took the splints out. Don’t know why, wasn’t painful. The saline flush. The first clot that came out looked like a raw liver in my sink. After that first clot comes out you will be surprised how clearly you can breathe.
