Between seemingly endless appeals, and the scarcity of lethal injection drugs, the death penalty has been essentially nullified as a punishment.
Well, Idaho has figured out a partial work-around when the drugs can’t be secured.

Ammo must be cheaper than electricity there.

I’m good with this. Hanging too.

Should be *public* firing squads

Depending on what they did we might let 5 blind guys take the first shots.

Next headline from Idaho:
"Idaho flooded with applicants for firing squad positions"

This bullshite always seemed like a ridiculous claim.
Just use fentanyl. It's pennies a dose and apparently everywhere.

Damn, just send a few political interns to Reno, Vegas or Portland for some street fentanyl. Hell, Boise would probably do too.

What’s wrong with a single shot to the back of the head?

Some states still use hanging and firing squads for their executions. Firing squads are still allowed in Utah, Oklahoma, and Mississippi, but Utah is the only one to have performed one in the last ten years. New Hampshire is currently the only state that allows hanging as a means of execution.

Damn, they hang you and then shoot you. Sounds effective.
I believe if I had my choice I would go with the guillotine. Seems like it would be over fast and pain free. That last 5 or 10 seconds of brain activity would be a little strange though.

The point of firing squads is so that no individual is truly assured that they were the ones who pulled the killing trigger.

As another option, they could tie him down with a muzzle and let any victim or family member strangulate him with their own bare hands.
Posted on 3/20/23 at 5:26 pm to Ghost of Colby
Family of victims should be given the option to pull the trigger if they want.

Should be same as verdict, you shoot someone, you get shot, knife you get sliced, strangle..yada yada...
