This is a crazy story.
LINK
Basically, Nigerian scammers pretended to be a hot girl that knew this boy's friends (social media research). They sent nude pics and coerced him into videoing himself doing a sex act. Then they threatened to send the video to his friends list if he didn't pay them $1,000.
He chose to kill himself instead.

There was a poster on here not a month ago that said that happened to his 30-40 yr old brother and that he received the video when he didn't pay.

shite, I'd have told that fricker to send that bitch to my friends. Laughs would ensue. But I'm 36 and DGAF. At 16, I still wouldn't have given a damn but I could certainly understand it at that age.
I hate this family lost their son to such a senseless thing and frick every scammer POS doing things like this.
May that young man rest in peace. 16 is way too young.

I fell for that shite once it was a chick on tinder when tinder first came out. Sent nudes and asked for dick pic. I sent it. Then claimed if I didn’t pay 2500 she would send the pic to all my friends and family.
I responded “go ahead I don’t give a shite” and deleted the number and blocked it.
Nothing ever happened. Sad the kid killers himself but come on, even if the scammers sent it to his friends it’s not the end of the world.

Social media 101 needs to be a high school course
Chapter 1: Never put dick/boobs and face in the same picture

Luckily for me I can't zoom in that close and still have my face showing.

You are absolutely right. Actually maybe middle school. 7th or 8th grade.
This is really awful, these kids need to be aware of ways they can be taken advantage of and that while they should avoid making mistakes, if they do its not the end of the world.

It was a weird conversation, but I think it was necessary

I told the youngest one a few years ago that anything that she puts on the internet is permanent and that her grandkids may find it one day. I didn't go into details though. Would have indeed been awkward

The 17 y/o said ‘yes, ma’am’ the 16 y/o said if I posted a pic of my dick online, I’d be a millionaire

Call it draconian but I wouldn't be opposed to scammers being forced to compete in devious and painful contests for public amusement

Teach your kids that as soon as you snap that picture, assume that your whole school will see it. Nobody ever says man I wish I would have sent nudes.
