Oakland A’s President Dave Kaval tells me that the team has put an offer in on a plot of land in the Las Vegas Valley where they’d be interested in building a ballpark at. Moving from “a phase of research/data gathering, to action around a final site.” #vegas #oakland #mlb
Lot of movement here quickly.

I’m sure one of the cheapest franchises in sports won’t expect the taxpayers to foot any of the bill

I thought they had a deal in place for a new park in Oakland?

Who the fuk would want to build anything new in Oakland?
The Vegas A's has a good ring to it, too.

No. That plan has always been a dead pipe dream, no chance of happening.

Haven't the people of Vegas burned up enough?

Damn, Oakland had all 3 major sport teams 3 years ago, and they’re about to have none.

Can Vegas really support three new pro sports franchises all at once?

Gonna be disappointed if they don't do a total rebrand

Will be curious to the effects upon Aviators and their Summerlin draw?
Then again, LVGK have their farm team in the greater metro.

You could keep all that and still be the Aces.
Same A’s logo and everything.
I’d imagine they’d just keep Athletics though.

Living in Vegas for 8 years I can say sports franchises will be well supported. A lot of baseball fans too. Golden knights are having a dip but still filling seats easily. These people have been hungry for it from what I can see. I think it will happen from what the big money people have told me. The weekend series against Cleveland will be a good audition but it looks promising already
